Yeah, I always saw Moz at 24-25mpg and then likely Black sopping up 15mpg. That leaves a few minutes for Nance/Yi. Zub will learn and redshirt and be ready for minutes by year's end.

Basically my TL. If/when we are out of the play off race, by April I want to see what Zubac can do with 20-24MPG to close the season after a year of adjusting to the NBA game.

Yeah, at year's end, could see Moz ceremonially starting (15mpg), Black playing 20-22mpg, and Zub getting the remainder.

I'd rather invest in a young, athletic 3&D guard who may be raw right now but could be a solid backup off the bench in a few years. Calderon and Huertas are in their mid-30s and are only fill-ins. I also think DLo would benefit being guarded by someone in practice whose closer to the athletic level he'll be facing against starters.

Like what I saw from Robinson. Attacks the offensive glass, doesn't force but is athletic enough to take advantage of bench players inside.

Man, he may actually be in a battle for a roster spot. Didn't think he was but not sure if Young, Yi, Auguste, etc. have a leg up on him from an on-court production standpoint.

Someone posted his combine measurements, which showed he was almost as quick as Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard. According to Pincus, he's not a legit 6'10'', more closer to 6'7'', which is what would explain the quickness. Given his motor and skill-set, seems like he's perfect for a small ball 4 or 5. Was nice to see him attacking from the perimeter.

I don't think it's a matter of whether he'll make the roster or not, because he's clearly seasoned and athletic enough to contribute. I think it's more a matter of where he'll fit into the rotation. Looking forward to seeing how he plays the rest of the preseason because he did well last night.

AB hitting shots. Young with the DNP. Yi and Huertas looking pedestrian. The 3rd stringers don't look set in stone much.

If Yi doesn't ramp up his game in preseason I think he's gonna be the one who gets cut.

Robinson is just finally realizing what a good talent he is when he's engage. and what I saw yesterday was a guy who's at least trying to find himself a home in the NBA.

When I saw it say 6'10 on the screen during the free throws I laughed so hard the guy is barely taller than nick young

Thad Young is 6' 7 and T-Rob is much bigger. Hes more 6' 9

I'm surprized with his passing skills. Very similar to Randle, quick as hell, good rebounder, good athleticism, good passer. Maybe he's better on defense and Randle on offense.

Robinson looking to break Matt Barnes' record? Why can't this guy find a home? I'd cut Nick Young for him.

T-Rob scores final bucket on Randle in scrimmage, finishing off the youngsters:

Dude is really athletic. Seems like he was a victim of bad circumstances/coaching early on in his career. If Luke gets him playing the right way, Lakers can get a looong lease on him, seeing how he's just 25 years of age (Tarik turns 25 next month as well).

This guy seems like a baller. Anyone know why he can't stick with a team?

I might consider him over Yi at this point with Black looking like our backup big and Zub showing he's better than Yi so far.

He won't break Joe Smith's record of 13 teams.

I like the motor and effort; but he has no shot. Black makes him expendable on this team.

Not sure why people here are high onthis guy. He's athletic but what does he do well above average? Not worth a roster spot. Wouldn't mind keeping him for the d league though

Has Thomas Robinson impressed enough to earn a spot on the team?

Quote:
Certainly a player we didn't expect to receive alot of recognition but it appears Thomas Robinson is quickly asserting himself and making a strong case for the Lakers to keep him past training camp. Robinson is working hard and everyone around him realizes it. If you would take a look at the Lakers winners board for training camp, Robinson placed 3rd in number of wins behind D'Angelo Russell (1st) and Lou Williams (2nd) which means he has outplayed the other Laker bigs including Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. We don't expect him to get much playing time over them though (depending how he plays today).
