Going to go safe and predict Lebron, even with the regular season "coasting", unless he plays less than 70 games. He'll put up his usual stats, the Cavs will probably have the second or third best record overall, and two of his biggest competitors, Curry and Durant, are on the same team.

I think Harden is the favorite but wouldn't surprise me if these so called sports journalists give it to Lebron again.

Since Curry and Durant are on the same team - none of them.

Davis, Leonard would be good choices, but they are not douchebag enough for todays sports journalists.

Westbrook has all the things going for him, except I'm afraid his body at some point can't support him anymore.

So it is going to be a race between Harden and Lebron.

Yes, Lebron's only downfall is that he has been so consistently dominating that the voters assume he will be and look elsewhere. That has happened to other players over the years, guys who were clearly the best player in the league on a great team but were ignored because voters were bored with them.

I think they're done giving it to Lebron. I say KD if they follow their stupid, "best player on best team" logic. Westbrook second, Lebron third.

I concur, If Russell averages 20-22 and leads the Lakers to a playoff berth he should get it.

He's going to coast this season. By coast I mean, still put up huge #'s and have team success but they're probably going to manage his minutes big time (as they should).

Reason I'm not going with Lebron is that I think that Lue is going to play Lebron around 70 games during the RS and keep his minutes down. That's not to say that he still can't dominate, but I think D'Antoni's offense is a perfect match for Harden and if Houston secures a top 5 seed, he's my favorite. Don't think there are any teams in the West who are clearly better than Houston, besides Golden State, San Antonio, and the Clips.

Of the young players, maybe KAT would put up monster numbers but twolves has to make the playoff

Otherwise, it's LeBron. Him, Kobe and Shaq should've had more

I think the Warriors will be too good and the media will punish them, so no MVP for them.

I think Lebron is the favorite, and I'll say Kawhi second. Darkhorse is Lillard if Portland can improve on last year.

Westbrook and Harden will put up the numbers, but teams won't be good enough IMO.

Problem for the Warriors is they have a lot of talent and they have to share the ball amongst them. Plus no way they are going to play their starters as many minutes when they don't have to. That means the averages for both Durant and Curry will go down.

This is why I think somebody like Harden or Westbrook will put up monster numbers just to keep their team in contention. Because both players have lost somebody who can share the scoring load with them they are now going to get a lot more looks and handle the ball more often. Thus more scoring opportunities.

(bleep). LeBron hasn't deserved an MVP that he lost unless you think he deserved '06, '07, or '08. 2011 should have gone to Howard if not Rose, and 2014-2016 all went to the rightful player.

I'm no LeBron hater, but with his regular season cruise control, he absolutely has not been the rightful MVP since 2013.
