@LakersPulse
The Lakers have the 8th best defensive efficiency during the preseason. _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

That would be a great idea, I hope that's apart of the pregame discussions. |

As emplay brought up in his pinned article thread, it'll be interesting to see if Portland throws some traps and hard hedges at DLo tonight with their bevy of undersized, athletic energy bigs and wings. How will DLo and the coaching staff adapt if he gets a couple early TOs trying to split the double, etc? |

Remember when the Clippers did that to Clarkson? I bet Luke and the staff has been in his ear about this adjustment because even if he doesn't see those coverages in preseason, he definitely will in the regular season. |

Russell vs Portland last year:
13/6
16/5
21/2/1
Not like he completely struggled. |

Oh yeah, even when he had slow starts in the first two games (see BS), he was able to put some points on their backcourt - Lillard dies on every screen, and Crabbe is overrated as an iso-defender - especially when he could probe the Blazers' defense with Plumlee soft-hedging.
I'm more curious to see if Portland will throw something new at him just to see how DLo responds. |

I'm really looking forward to this game - particularly how DLO and Clarkson defend the Blazers' guard tandem, and how effectively we can counter the defense that Stotts will inevitably draw up.
If our wings and 4's can execute well and keep their defense honest I think Lillard and McCollum could get a serious workout trying to keep up. They made their mark through offense and that Blazer team carries them on defense. They can be taken off dribble. Same can be said on the flip side, though. This is a huge test to see how far DLO's and Clarkson's defensive skills have progressed, and a test of Randle's and the rest of our front court's decision-making.
Glad the win or loss doesn't matter for this one. This is a good test! Grab some popcorn and lets see how we stack up against a legit team with a top tier guard duo! |

Yeah, I also would like to see Ingram on CJ if Clarkson or Lou can't handle him. |

that's good news....the lack of information/details about the injury was leading to "internet" theories the injury may have been worse than thought. |

That's Internet for you, that's why I stay away from news and opinions on the internet unless it's confirmed. |

Wonder if young will start with Deng? and I want to see Huertas play Calderons minutes last game. |

I would not be surprised if Huertas gets the majority of backup minutes tonight, and I can see Calderon getting the night off completely. |

I was going to go to the game but I ended up booking a late gig. Hopefully I'm home in time to watch most of it. Go Lakers! |

I'm expecting Russell to a more muted game tonight facing a better team, but I would love for him to surprise me. |

^I'm wondering if DLO and Clarkson are going to want to make a statement against Lillard/McCollum. |
