Its not a shot. Its the bold truth. And I love Phil for it. Any inch you can get, take it. If it means complaining, complain. Sure it has a negative connotation, but that's exactly what it is.

Kobe is getting MJ calls this season, but the refs are starting to back away from that after larry brown "complained" about it. Phil has got to find a way to make sure Kobe starts getting those "MJ" calls again. Also, the refs have been pretty blatantly anti-laker the last couple games. The game in Charlotte and NO were worse officiating than the superbowl.

Puhhhlease. Kobe getting MJ calls?? If anything, we see what happens when Kobe gets MJ calls (81 point game, Knicks thrashing). Kobe is held in check somewhat by the refs. Give him equal of better calls and its GAME OVER.

I don't really see that as a put-down. He's just saying (as many have) that Phil likes to play mind games and use the media. No biggie.

^^^ What he said.

These same people said Riley screwed Stan Van Gundy. If Phil Jackson, randomly, told the LA press that Riley screwed Stan Van Gundy, Riley would be pissed off that Phil Jackson is taking shots at him through the media.

Riley had no business getting involved with Mark Cuban's comments, unless Riley wanted to be a $&%@ and take a shot at Jackson. Riley is obviously bitter or angry about something. Perhaps, it was the beatings he took from Jackson's Bulls team or that Phil is now the man in LA.

Nevertheless, I'm losing respect for Riley more and more. It's a shame he was a Laker at one time or it wouldn't be an issue to not like him.
