Or cut both.

ah yes, the 14 man roster that Jerry West used in the 80's & 90's knowing that any good player that was released would run the to Lakers....Mitch kept doing it for what could be similar reasons, but most likely because Jerry did it....and well, I am sure you have your own reasons right? not just something you read in a 1992 SI article and began to preach. There is just really not reason to leave a roster slot open unless your give a crap about the Buss kids Merrill Lynch accounts, which I dont.

Maybe do a little research on waivers? Mitch did do that, and we ended up with Tarik Black.

I sound like a broken record, but I like his game and his fit. We'd have to cut two people though to fit him in.

Someone will claim him off waivers.

Is there a reason that we can't be that someone?

There's a waiver claim order, and we're not high on it. Has to do with cap space and roster spots (which we still have 15 right now).

If we cut MWP would our spot go up? Enough to get either Hunter or GP2 in your opinion?

I'm not so sure were done cutting players yet. Lots of young talent on the waiver wire that could interest us. We have enough Vets to get rid of MWP.

I'm not sure. I'm not 100% sure how far over/under the cap we are, and whether an original list published by someone re: waiver wire claims was made b/f we cut Brown. Still, we are at 15, which is the league's max so we won't get to the top of the list unless we cut one of Trob/MWP.

what is our 15?

moz/black/zubac
randle/nance/trob
deng/ingram/young/mwp
clarkson/williams
russell/calderon/huertas

?

i think mwp is dropped and they ride with 14 leaving one slot open.

Lakers don't plan to make any more cuts. So roster will stand at 15, including Metta World Peace & Thomas Robinson.

I would move Lou for a 3rd round pick, and take Goodwin in a heartbeat.

MWP is not an NBA player. We gave Deng 70M to be our vet forward. Last spot should should go to a guy with potential..Goodwin, Hunter....AB.

Didn't that spot open up from Randle's injury exemption?

Of course you would, since you like AB so much.

Goodwin has had a similarly underwhelming NBA career so far- not a good shooter, and not a good defender.

What kind of world do you live in that you rather trade Lou for a made up 3rd round pick while getting upset over Anthony Brown getting cut?

Just saying that neither one of these guys has produced, and Goodwin got a lot of minutes last year in PHX. There's a reason they're letting him go.

I'm all for developing prospects, but sometimes you have to know when to cut bait.

You take shots at my Archie Goodwin and AB support, and you roll out the support train for Michigan bum Mitch McGary?

a more realistic world than one where claims are made the JC was the worst player in the preseason

I'd definitely dump TRob and take a flyer on McGary, we probably won't be able to get him though.

I said you can argue that JC was the worst player when you consider expectations and reality. I'll cut him some slack due to his off court situation with his friend but yea he was pretty bad. He certainly wasn't better than Lou.
