Its become more evident that we need more talent in the mix if we want to be championship contenders in the coming years. Just holding on to who we have and praying we can sign a FA superstar is not a good bet as already seen by Durant/Aldridge/Westbrook/*insert some other pipe dream star* plans.
Most obvious solution is TANK this season to maximize our chances of keeping our 1st round pick and hopefully draft a superstar in the making.
Also if we keep our 2017 pick we get the added bonus of turning our 2019 1st round pick owed to the Magic into 2 2nd rounders.
Id rather suck and keep the pick then suck and lose it lol, but its not guaranteed unless we have the worst record in the league which we probably wont. So tanking is not something we should be thinking about.
The roster isn't full of guys on their way out of the league(and a coach determined to play them), but due to inexperience, the team could lose around 60. Not exactly tanking in its purest form.
We may not have a good record, but I want our guys to compete every night. No more tanking mentality. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.
"...there was a time when the Israelites were wandering in the desert and all of a sudden, bread came down from heaven,” Pelinka said. “That’s kind of what today feels like for us to have KCP join.”
The sky is falling in preseason? Have some patience. The team that works best on the floor together will reveal itself in a few months. No tanking ever.
