Its become more evident that we need more talent in the mix if we want to be championship contenders in the coming years. Just holding on to who we have and praying we can sign a FA superstar is not a good bet as already seen by Durant/Aldridge/Westbrook/*insert some other pipe dream star* plans.
Most obvious solution is TANK this season to maximize our chances of keeping our 1st round pick and hopefully draft a superstar in the making.

Also if we keep our 2017 pick we get the added bonus of turning our 2019 1st round pick owed to the Magic into 2 2nd rounders.

If you redo the '15 draft, Larry Nance may be a lotto pick. If you redo the '14 draft, JC may be a lotto pick. How many lotto picks do you need to understand a team isn't built by having 15 lotto picks? What we have now is enough. What youngsters need is TIME. Adding another 19 yr old next summer who needs the same time as Ingram needs to develop.. what is that going to do? It will bring you back next year starting the same thread.

Id rather suck and keep the pick then suck and lose it lol, but its not guaranteed unless we have the worst record in the league which we probably wont. So tanking is not something we should be thinking about.

Not even then.

Can't tank without Byron, and this team will have more post-ASB wins than pre-, so don't get your "hopes" up on a slow start either.

Tank and no top free agent will come here. We'll also have to overpay the middle guys. I lean towards showing improvement this year

No thanks. The last three years have been more than enough. We HAVE the prospects. We're in the development stage now.

Unless something catastrophically awful happens, and each and every one of the players that make up our core go down with season ending injuries, there's absolutely zero reason to tank.

I want to hop on the tank but I don't think we luck into the top 3 this time. I see us falling short and giving 4-9 pick to the sixers but hey atleast we get to keep our pick in 2018 right guys ? Guys ?

For some reason i thought the top pick was gauranteed top 3 lol, this just proves even further how stupid it would be to do a planned tank when we may come up empty handed. We stay the course with luke's system and culture, develop our young guys, and who knows maybe we end up with a pick anyway.

If we keep this year's pick, we lose the 2017-18 year pick for sure to Philly, and the first round pick we owe Orlando turns into two 2nd rounders owed in 2018 and 2020 IIRC.

If we lose this pick, we keep the 2018 pick, and still owe Orlando the 2019 pick. Think that's top 3 protected.

Even if we trade the pick, having that extra future first rounder would be nice. Of course, keeping the 2017 pick puts pressure on us to make the playoffs in 2018, as that pick would be unprotected.

Just realized after Gentry announced Hield's coming off the bench, the class of 2016 rookies will have no opening lineup starters at the beginning of the season.

Simmons would have but he's out half a season / indefinitely at the moment. Unless Luke changes anything by inserting Ingram, this will be quite the change from 2015 which had a number of the lottery picks start out the season.

Sabonis is likely to start at OKC.

Tanking is like an addiction, you must know when to stop. It's tempting to say "just one more time", but it has no ending. We're now at rehab and I don't wanna go back.

Still, even playing our best we may well end up among the bottom-3 with a reasonable chance to keep the pick. Anyway, as long as we keep on tanking we'll keep on overpaying for 3rd tier players on free agency.

Did you see Ingram running the point effortlessly, efficiently, and scoring 21 points to boot?

Did you see what DLO can do against point guards not named Curry or Lillard?

No "TANK" You!

Byron was pushed off the tank by Deng and Mozgov. They promised Byron that the tank will be in good hands.
