Prediction:

Metta becomes a Coach

Huertas is the other cut.

With Jose, JC, DLO and Lou being able to play the PG, Huertas is redundant. He is also the worst shooter out the group.

1-DLO
2-JC
3-BIngram
4-JRandle
5-Mozgov
6-Yi
7-ABrown
8-NYoung
9-LNance JR
10-TBlack
11-TRob
12-ZuBlocka
13-LDeng
14-Jose C
15-LouWill

Lou and Nick may be good trades for a contender looking for shooters-Unlike last year, working in Luke's system will highlight their shooting skills and more attractive to trade partners.

I like Trob, but he is undersized, and his game is similar to black, so I would rather keep YI, who does have size, sets good screens, can shoot.
Neither of them are getting any minutes even if they make the team anyways

I want to see Robinson kept over Yi as he actually offers more to the Lakers than Yi when it comes to playing Basketball. But because of Yi's contract and the structure of it which makes it very tradable for teams looking to save money. I expect near the trade deadline a few teams be will asking the Lakers about Yi if he hasn't played much as his salary will be lower, interesting what the Lakers could get back for him. As whichever team trades for Yi will waive him straight away.

And just make Metta apart of the coaching set-up already.

Though I could see Yi gone. It really doesn't matter to me, if whoever survives gets many minutes we are in trouble.

Currently at a high school football game, and just googled to see if any cuts were announced, and an LA Times article came up dated today at 8AM, and lists final roster with Metta and no Yi or Robinson? Was this announced? Did LA times post too early?

I hope, was just concerned it may have been one of those deals where they give the beat writer the info and ask to wait 24 hours to post...and it got posted early...:because it sure looks like a "meet the team" final roster article to me

Billy and Stu saying Zubac is no lock to make the roster? They crazy.

If he doesn't Luke will be in Byron territory. Highly doubt he doesn't make it.

It certainly does, even some of the language used in it.

Good find.

Zubac is a lock I would say.

I agree. Just thought it was weird that they'd talk about him and AB in the same breath.

It will probably be MWP and TRob as the odd men out even though they arguably could help more now than some who will make the team.

I wouldn't mind looking at some cuts from other teams like Will Bynum, Early, maybe RJ Hunter if he gets cut.

Why would they waste a roster spot on MWP? He can just be signed as a coach or something, travel with the team, and not play just as he would if he were rostered.

I honestly think Huertas should be in the bubble along with Yi, MWP, and TRob.

Yi is soft but he's going to make it because he can stretch the floor. Robinson won't make it. Huertas should be let go for the simple reason that he dribbles too much which is hurting Ingram's game.

They should cut Yi and MWP (make him a player development coach or something). But that sure looks like they mistakenly released a final cut before it was formally announced.

This is what I'm hoping happens tbh

I like Robinson a lot and Yi fills a need we lack, a stretch big

Though Yi can be a liability defensively, he can really space the floor for us on the other end. And in the game vs Portland I think he did a great job setting picks for DLo to get him nice looks

He has shown he can hit that outside jumper. Though he hasn't been consistent with it, I think as the season goes on it will drop more and more

So yeah I'm with the cutting of AB and keeping both TRob and Yi.

Nick Young emergence this preseason as someone who can consistently hit 3s AND be a capable defender makes it easier to let AB go.
