Actually, even though Bynum has size and some skills, Bynum probably would be getting limited minutes if he did go to Connecticut.
Coach Calhoun likes to play his junior and senior players. Right now Boone and Armstrong are looking like centers who have been coached by a solid if not great college coach for the past three years.
Nothing against Bynum, but he'll need time before he proves anything in the NBA. |

^Disagree. I think he'd bump Hilton Armstrong's minutes.
Like Bynum, Hilton has shown flashes, but against really weak competition. Armstrong is overrated.

Does this mean you think Bynum is overrated?
Your comment starts off with "like Bynum, Hilton has shown flashes". That would indicate they bother are overrated but have shown flashes (of greatness) against really weak competition (such as the Knicks). |

Calhoun said he would design his whole system around Bynum. He was really fond of the guy.
Though I do think even in college - Bynum would need a year before he dominated at that level.
But a year of elite college play - and Bynum's a top pick - giving the Lakers NO chance at drafting him unless they tanked going into the season.
Also, I'm not saying that if a guy can dominate at college he can dominate in the NBA. Not the case. But I do think a guy like Bynum - who's a natural low post Center with his length and size - would be a top pick if he had even had a solid rookie season at NCAA.
Especially considering the draftclass coming out this season. |

No, I don't think I'm overrating Bynum. I just think that with all the experience Armstrong has had, in practice against Boone and Okafor, and still can't get a consistent 15-10 out of him every game? Overrated.

I'd agree with that. Armstrong has looked solid this year but he's got a solid team around him. Boone, however, really has been impressive. After Okafor left, there weren't a lot of people who thought they would have such a solid front court this year. Armstrong and Boone have exceeded expectations, so far. |

Forget about Shaq's personal problems and attitude for a moment, but I would actually take a player who is the most DOMINANT player in the paint. Completely unstoppable strength and power. From a bastketball standpoint, I think Shaq is more dominant than Kareem. |
You are probably too young to remember, but I have yet to see anyone more dominant in the paint than Kareem. I realize that Wilt's numbers are more impressive, but I didn't see Wilt play until the latter years of his career. |
