I've been waiting for this moment. I knew he had it in him.

I'm happy for you Dave. I'm looking forward to seeing Clarkson grow as a player and the team as well.

Why are you happy for Dave? What did Dave accomplish?

Every one has a favorite player, just like most wanted Kobe to succeed so your happy that his favorite player played well.

Why can't I be happy that a Laker fan is happy that his favorite player is playing well?

Trudell asked DLo what was the difference in the 2nd half defensively, and he said "they were running the same plays" He said they figured out how to guard them. Luke outcoaching MDA already.

Luke's second half adjustments were impressive.

Do your thing IG. A win on opening night is a cause for positivity, no matter how you slice it.

It's funny how everyone was saying Jordan Clarkson sucks in the half time.

Great game from a great player. And he'll be even better.

Luol needs to give us more, he needs to give much more for the team.

I do hope we see less Nick and more Ingram. I still don't understand what Luke is doing by not starting Ingram. The starting units were bad tonight.

Clarkson as instant offense off the bench I'm good with. But I'd def start Ingram over Nick.

Allowing time to become acclimated to a 48 minute game, spark off the bench, sitting on the bench will allow great observation, we won so... Great game! Hope the defense tightens up though. It was agonizing watching the lack of rotational help.

Yep, rebounding and transitional defense needs work too but overall it was a great start to a new era of Lakers basketball!!

Well he did suck at halftime. Do you want us to lie and say he played amazing in the 1st half?

Yep he looked like first year JC and I'm glad Luke yanked him out early. It was a good decision considering it settled him to play an explosive 2nd half.

I don't think we'll see JC complaining about Luke Walton's player rotations, JC and DLO were there on the floor in crunch time, winning this game. Luke was right for pulling JC in the first half, yet trusting JC to play when it counted most. JC was the difference maker in crunch time. Huge game for JC and I think he's going to finish a lot more games this year.

Good to see the first game thread reach 117 pages for a Laker win!!

Luke Walton is an outstanding young coach. Regardless of what happens throughout the season, I know that we are headed in the right direction led by the brightest coach in the NBA.

He mentally sees things on a whole other level just like his dad. The kid has so much "Bill Walton" in him (FYI: that's a great thing to have) that you know he's going to be successful. We are in good hands ladies and gentlemen.

The Rockets remind me of Kobe 05-06, 1 player with a decent side kick in eric Gordon but nothing else

Or maybe we played so well that they looked that way
