Mild right ankle sprain for Cody Bellinger. He is ... day to day. #Dodgers

Looked bad when I saw it but he was walking it off after a few steps.

Too bad for Cody but give him a couple days off as Gonzo and Grandy are more than capable replacements but yah Cody should never played RF again, greater injury risk so than LF or 1B.

I missed this, but we recalled Paredes as well (with Darvish going to the DL). I'd like to see him continue to do well and force the Dodgers' hands with options at lefty reliever.

News: Dodgers ahead of '01 Mariners pace
By Matt Snyder & Mike Axisa 4h ago • 5 min read

Quote:
Dodgers ahead of 2001 Mariners pace
The Dodgers won. I know, shocking. They basically win everyday. Since June 6, the Dodgers have basically been on another planet. They are 52-9 since then.
Overall, the Dodgers now sit 87-34, which is a .719 winning percentage. The record for single-season wins is 116. The 2001 Mariners were 116-46, which is a .716 winning percentage, so the Dodgers are now officially ahead of the pace needed to set the record.
Of course, the Mariners are tied for the record in wins with the 1906 Cubs, who actually went 116-36. In order for the Dodgers to top that winning percentage, they'd have to go 124-38.

I think it's 21 straight without losing a series. I believe we may have tied a series or two during this stretch. It's just silly at this point.

I think most Dodger fans care about breaking the 29 year streak......win record would be nice but not really important in the grand scheme of things.

Who is going to lose more games, Dodgers or Lakers?

Wow, that's an interesting question to ponder. If the Dodgers tied the 116-win record, that's 46 losses. The Lakers would have to go 36-46 to equal that, and their Over/Under in Vegas is a little under that. But it's probably a fair bet to say the Dodgers fall just short of the record (they'll rest guys a bit down the stretch, etc.).

Seriously, that's a really good question.

87-34...53 games above .500 and an even 20 game lead on the 2nd place team in the division.

I just don't like the idea of inserting AGon into the lineup just because of his name. The guy typically shrinks when the stage gets bigger, when i think of AGon i think of all the playoff disappoints in recent years against the Cardinals and the Mets. I'm fine with him playing now with Belli hurting, but I wish Dave Roberts solidifies the playoff lineup at least couple weeks before playoff starts so everyone knows their definite roles heading into postseason. AGon should be nothing more than a pinch hitter or DH if we advance to WS.

Damn Maeda and Ryu both run and out of gas at the 5 inning mark!

Hopefully Hill can lock down the 4th playoff starter role.

AGon is an excellent fielder at 1B and still drives in runs even in the postseason. Normally he tends to be gassed come playoff time since he usually plays with little rest. This year, he should be fresher with his time off.

They are definitely better with Bellinger AND a healthy AGon than without, at least against RHP.

You are relying on your memory of playoff disappointments and not looking up what he's actually done throughout his playoff career, which has been pretty reliable.

Hill's had kind of the same problem. I think it's there for the taking by any of them but nobody is doing so. But Hill has the inside position.

Hill is already signed through 2019, when he will be 39 years old.

Gonna be tough to split this 4 game set at the Bucs to keep the no losing series streak going....expect McCarthy or Stewart to be called upon for r a spot start this week.

I don't think it will be that difficult to split the series. Maybe to win or definitely to sweep, but I could easily see us splitting it.

I watched the game from the 5th inning on. Y'all know I was nervous on every Stripling pitch there in that final inning. Oh, and Baez has no business being on the mound in the 8th inning in a high-leverage spot. All but two of his pitches were fastballs, and that's just too predictable for the hitter. Even Chapman has gotten into trouble lately just throwing fastballs. You have to mix it up every once in a while. Morrow does that.

Really hoping that Morrow and Buehler are the shut-down setup guys for us. Watson scares me, and Baez scares me. (I assume that guys like Stripling and Avilan won't make the postseason roster.)

Wish he'd get that average up but this young bronco is loose!

Watson and Cingrani for sure are nervous time pitchers. Baez, despite his numbers, will always worry me in high-leverage situations until he shows he can produce consistently. Josh Fields and Brandon Morrow right now are the reliable right-handers before Jansen. I don't think there's a single lefty that gives anyone confidence. Should the Dodgers put Jeremy Bleich on the 40-man roster and see what he can do?
