I can't believe the Cubs wouldn't use Wade Davis there in a must win game for them. The manager said he wanted Davis in there with a lead and said Wade was only going to be used for an inning tonight. Why?

Thrilled he didn't use him though.

At this point, I'd have to say JT is our best player now.

Tbh, he's been our best , most consistent player since getting playing time. He was the only clutch player we had until all these young studs came on board.

Feels even better to hit it off of Lackey.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Amazing run.....2 games away from the World Series and hopefully inspire a new generation of Dodger baseball fans in LA....lets face it we need some new memorable moments, those 1988 World Series Dodgers tapes have been played thousands of times.

Edit: 2-19 now!

Because of Roberts' (bleep) batting order, the Dodgers usually have the wrong guys up with RISP. What incentive do the opposing pitchers have to throw Bellinger a strike? What incentive do they have to throw Puig a strike? You're counting on Ki-ke to drive in runs. Seriously!

Pretty sure the Cubs would have been happy to walk Puig all four times, except for that one time where was obviously bored (with the scissor kicks on each pitch) and they got the courage to throw one down the middle at 3-0, then they went back out of the zone for the last two and Puig lost patience and chased.

Way to neutralize your hottest hitter, Dave.

He's got to elevate Puig to the #2 spot IMO, or, at the very least, hit him cleanup in Game 3 if he wants to keep JT and Belli 2-3 now. I also wonder if we'll see Grandal for Game 3 off the right-hander, but maybe Roberts won't want to change anything in terms of the pitcher-catcher relationship that's working so far.

Might go with Grandal behind the plate and Barnes in the infield.

On th other hand, Culberson has been solid. Lots of good choices.

Yeah, if Culberson is the best defensive SS we have, I'd keep him in there. I'm OK with him in the lineup batting 8th. I just don't want Puig, who is red-hot, batting in front of him. I believe he should be hitting 2nd in the absence of Seager because JT would be awesome protection for him and Puig might get pitches to hit. And if they keep pitching him carefully and if he keeps drawing walks, JT will be in position to burn them.

Just got back from the game. It was my first nlcs game and my first time seeing a walk off win. The place was nuts.

This ranks right up there for me with the Lakers wcf game I went to against the suns where Ron Artest made the put back for the win.

Let handles the next game now. Go Blue.

Roberts would probably be moving Puig up in the order for Game 3 anyway, with a RHP going, but I posted Puig's numbers vs LHP a few pages ago. Puig's been shreading LHP since the end of July.

Given the fact that he historically has had no splits to worry about, I think this season's subpar numbers are overblown, and it's time for Roberts to show a little faith - especially in the absence of one of their most important hitters (Seager).

Anytime they move Puig out of the #5 (or #4) spot, it should surprise no one that that's when the Dodgers get next to nothing from that spot. I also don't think it's a coincidence that Bellinger hit his lone playoff HR with Puig behind him. I doubt that after falling behind 3-0 in that AB vs Arizona, he gets grooved two straight pitches (he looked at 3-0 strike then drilled the 3-1 pitch) if Puig isn't in the on-deck circle.

Bury Puig in the back of the order (behind Hernandez, et al) and the Dodgers are playing up hill.

Update:
Puig vs LHP since the end of July (including playoffs)
.289 Avg / .475 OBP / .511 Slg / .986 OPS

Didn't the Dodgers went 2-0 against the Cubs last year? Hopefully they can close it out in 5.

who is out?

Seager. Injured back, may not play again even if the Dodgers get to the WS.

Dude serious? I think our roster is good enough to withstand that but man, I really hope he's in the lineup. He deserves it.

Last time the Dodgers won game 1 of the NLCS was in 1985. Even in 88 the team lost game 1 to the Mets (but did win game 2).

Maeda has been crazy good as a middle reliever. Literally feels like it's a 5 minute inning with im there in the 6th or 7th. 100% he can give more but Dave Roberts is probably going to save him for a game wher a starer is getting shelled early. What a gd luxury. And Morrow on top of that?

Our bullpen is the reason why Kenly came out in the 9th and Joe Maddon went with Lacky to save Davis.

We got a deep ass squad. Like ChickenStu has been saying, we're no longer just a team built around Clayton. We're so much more.,
