Wood might be a little rusty he hasn't pitched in a while. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

If he's too rusty, you bring in Maeda. It's a wrap, just enjoy the ride. |

Wood was fatigued in the second half of the season (although he did finish strong). So if someone gets a ton of rest I'd prefer that it's him. |

I would put Walker Buehler on the roster before Stripling and Pedro Baez, or tell Ryu to man up. It is a little baffling that Ryu doesn't want to try to come out of the bullpen, even with a full warmup before he would take the field. |

It was a flawless victory. Putting in Stripling just teased them. The Cubs still didn't score. |

I would too. I don't want any more soft tossers. Embrace the philosophy of power-armed relievers, at least from your right-handers. |

Cubs score 4 runs in 3 games, lol, no way they are winning four games in a row...!
End it tomorrow and wait for the Astros... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

If Wood can give us 5 innings while only giving up 2 runs or less then we are good to go. I trust our offense to score more than 2 runs and I trust Watson/Morrow/Maeda/Jansen to finish off the game. |

Dave Roberts know all about coming back from being down 3-0, and winning a series 4-3. Need to finish the job and close them out. |

Yu was dealing. Obviously the Dodgers know what they are doing with Honeycutt working with pitchers.
They have him focusing on just a few different pitches and pounding the zone. No more dinking around trying to nip at the corners with stuff like he has.
Also Chris Taylor has been unbelievable this season. Not just the clutch hitting but you can play him in the outfield or at shortstop? Amazing. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Al they need is a spark and anything is possible....I remember game 3 of the 2004 ALCS when the Yankees spanked the Red Sox 19-8 and then they came back because Dave Roberts helped spark a rally in the 9th inning in game 4 and the series by stealing a base. Dodgers just gotta go into the game like any men on base can turn into something big. |

The one bad move for Roberts last night was bringing in Stripling top of 9th. He and Baez shouldn't be on the roster. Why not Fields or Maeda? _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I can see both sides of the argument. I think Roberts sent in Stripling to mop up so that he can give Fields and Maeda a rest as they potentially have 3 straight games in Chicago and doesn't want to overtax them. Baez has had good numbers against Chicago and ironically would have been better in a low leverage situation such as the one Stripling faced. That pretty much removes Stripling from the WS roster if/when the Dodgers make it. Expect to see probably Avilan replacing him. And good for Ethier to finally make an appearance. Now perhaps that means Granderson sits as Ethier moves past him on the depth chart. |

I forgot about Avilan. He was injured and hasn't pitched in a long time. Not sure Roberts has total faith in him. I am sure he would go with Cingrani and Watson before him depending on the situation. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

It's not that Ryu doesn't want to come out of the bullpen, he's just not as prepared to do so physically as a reliever. He has a very lengthy pregame routine just to throw the ball competitively and hasn't thrown in back to back games before. So it's either he's a starter or nothing with his injury history. |

I was thinking Avilan as more of taking up the mop up role that Stripling couldn't handle. |

I guess I am nitpicking a little bit. Roberts and the players have been phenomenal so far. Hardly no complaints from me. Everything is clicking. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

At this stage and sooooo close to the WS, we can afford the luxury of nitpicking a great team.
Roberts has managed the roster and team masterfully by giving very specific roles to players to be successful and not deviating from it. That's probably been the biggest difference coaching-wise between Roberts and Maddon so far. Lackey relieving in the ninth took him out of his comfort zone. Maeda was gonna be used to either get righties out or as a long-reliever for extra innings and looked very comfortable doing so. |
