Looks like a pitcher's duel today. Kershaw already getting his 2000th career K and Nelson with 6 Ks and it's just the third inning!
Update: It's now the end of the fifth and Kershaw has 11 and Nelson has 8 strikeouts.

F#$@%! Kershaw with one mistake pitch and are now down to the Brewers 1-0.
Now Utley with the error. Not looking good in this game.
Kershaw gets his 14th K to end the inning.
Dodgers need offense.
Bottom of the eighth, Dodgers threatened but did nothing. Looks like a 3rd straight loss right now.
Grandal hits a homerun to tie the game! |

Forsythe is 0 for 5 with 3 K's and a DP groundout in the 8th with 1st and 3rd when we were down 1-0. He's hitting .227. |

Bellinger continues his Rookie of the Year campaign by giving the Dodgers the lead in the 12th with his 12th. |

Indeed. 26 K's by Dodger pitching, tying a MLB record. Jansen now has 39 K's and 0 walks. Although he hit a batter today. What a bum. |

Pitching has been amazing the last 3 games. Unfortunately, the offense has been largely MIA.
Good to see Dodgers pulling out the win today. Kid Cody another late inning home run. 8 of his 12 HRs come in 7 inning or later. Clutch.
Hope JT gets back soon. |

Thanks for beating the Brewers. Doesn't mean I'm not still pissed off about sweeping the Cubs last week. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Joc needs to get better at the plate. Gold glove defense withstanding, you can't be hitting barely over the Mendoza line with Chris Taylor lurking. _________________ KOBE |

My hope is Taylor takes over as the everyday second baseman when Joc comes back. _________________ I LOVE BASKETBALL! |

Hill now has 18 walks in 26 innings. Walks were a huge problem for him for most of his injury-riddled career, until his one-month cameo with Boston at the end of the 2015 season and last season with the A's and us.

So, best comps for Bellinger?
I see Chris Davis (especially the high-K rate), Shawn Green, and Adam Dunn. |

Chris Davis is a good comparison. I liken him to a Brandon Belt with more power. |
Davis and Dunn had years where they hit just about .200, even in years where they hit a ton of HR's. I don't see Bellinger with an average that low over a full season, but maybe I'm too much of an optimist there. Belt is a pretty good call, actually. Belt is a pretty good athlete, just like Bellinger is, with both being able to play the outfield in addition to first base. Davis and Dunn are Paul Bunyan-types, I think. |

I just find similarities of the same swing styles of Davis and Dunn with Bellinger and probably why Cody has his power compared to Belt. But you're right, he's much more fluid an athlete now than Davis and Dunn are at this point (don't forget Dunn was a LF/RF early on in his career). .260-.270 hitter who can get 25-30 HR's a season is about what he can produce in a year best case. Worst case is a .230-.240 power hitter with a decent glove. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

In case you haven't already figured it out, you have to write in Cody Bellinger's name on the All-Star ballot!

He wasn't very good with the Padres and then did well with the Rays. Maybe he just doesn't like playing in southern CA lol. I have no idea, but that .191 average and .258 slugging % isn't lighting the world on fire. He does have a .318 OBP, which suggests that he'd be an on-base asset if he could merely hit .250 or so. At least we have Taylor as an alternative if this keeps up for Forsythe. |

He's an ex-Ray so the team will keep him. Maybe even give him a big deal when his current one expires. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif
