They've already removed his merchandise from lakersstore.com.

Of the new players, Ingram has the most merchandise available. Yi had the second most. They were really hoping to tap into that Asian market. It was like when Lin was here. He had tons of merchandise with his name on it.

It's okay, Jim. You tried.

Unfortunately, Yi didn't want any part of being trade bait this whole season. I don't blame Yi tbh - he was being used.

It was a clever contract, just need to give it to an end of bench guy like Thomas Robinson next summer instead.

I think one of the pics of the squad from media day would be cool as a new LG photo, to replace the chairman

He made as much of an impact for us as that Chinese player that tried out for the Clippers in the mid 90's....this was years before Yao Ming, Mengke Bateer, or Wang Zhizhi.

I think Yi saw the writing on the wall...he really wasn't fitting in or making an impact in the NBA....again! Probably best for him and the Lakers at this stage

So much for all of that talk about what an amazing trade chip Yi and that contract were going to be. Was it Trudell that kept saying that nonsense?

It isn't nonsense, it would have been a great trade piece.

If it was, they could have easily kept him. They have several players they could have stashed in the d league. I don't really see them being in the position to want to absorb some wanted veteran late in the season.

Pincus brought up a hypothetical where they would trade it for Demarcus Cousins, which was silly.
