Fiendish If i remembered more of Gerald Wallace's game, or took the time to look - I'd probably agree with that comp that you gave Jackson - you said Wallace with point guard skills
I know conjuring inaccurate 1:1 comparisons is our favorite past time as fans... But the 'mix of - comparisons' may be more fun.
For Jackson I'd say
-MKG motor/defense
-Iggy ball handling & passing
Jumper that I can't predict... |

He reminds me more of Kemba at UConn. Definitely worth a high 2nd |
Reminds me of a right handed , 3 inch taller Isaiah Thomas who was picked VERY last. I say we get him at 28 just to be safe. |

I really like Trier. I think CBS is highest on him and I think they are for good reason. |

I think he will have more of a scorer mentality in the pro's. At least more than Iggy. |

Trier has the last 15 for Zona. Wow. And that shot looks pretty pure to me. |

It would be funny if we drafted Ball and Trier. Both have very similar first names. |

Markannen is going to be an absolute nothing on defense in the pros. He can still make an impact offensively--perhaps a big one--but man, that D. Oy vey. |

I think that depends on his jumper. I think the ability to score(shoot in large part) is the determining factor of aggressiveness. I think that's why we've seen Ingram be passive so often this season. If a guy knows he can't shoot/score, he gon' look to create for others.
Jackson can be unselfish if need be, and is a skilled passer/creator |

I was all for drafting IT that year. Can't believe he dropped to 60. _________________ We only celebrate championships.

Jackson's motor is impressive _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Until you realize Ball is just like any other rookie we've had... meaning it will take time. While PG13 is an inefficient scorer, and a passive Kobe. 22 pts and he's had his own team for awhile, so nothing will change on the scoring front. 22 is lightweight for a "superstar" who might not make the all-star in the West either.
My comment is based on assuming that you've dealt Ingram and D'Lo for George? Terrible idea, hope this isn't what Magic and Pelinka are thinking. |
George has been above average defender this year. Which could be considered elite now? I mean let's face it, defense in the NBA this season has to be close to an all time worst? Bit before this year George's defense has been in the elite, elite category, even better then Kobe. So 22pts and say a top 10 defender is worth it imo. |
Will Ball and Randle explode and be superstars during PG13's prime? I don't think they will, and I'd like a better end-game than the line up that Noahp45 proposed. In that scenario, you just traded Ingram and Russell for several years of mediocrity. I think Bird would be ecstatic going forward with a trio of Turner/Ingram/Russell.
The elite wing club is a minimum of 25/5/5, the numbers Kobe and T-Mac would at least get. PG13 doesn't even get the minimum on a team all to himself. I'm just not a big PG13 fan. |

Now THAT'S an interesting trade.
I think Philly would do it depending where they land come lotto night. If they end up with Smith or Monk on Draft day they're pretty much set. |

Yeah, it's hard to find good 1:1 comparisons bc you end up boxing the prospects into certain characteristics that they may or may not have. |

Their roster lineup would be
Fultz
Monk
Covington
Saric
Embiid
I think that's better for them than having Simmons at PF and a hole in the starting backcourt.
We would have (Nick young resigned on large one large year deal)
Russell
Young
Ingram
Simmons
Zubac
Let simmons be point forward. Zubac can shoot, so you actually have four shooters surrounding Simmons, which is perfect.
I'd even throw in the late first rounder and second rounder to make it work if necessary. Also throw in Randle if they want him.
This trade really makes a lot of sense for Philly. Having Fultz instead of Simmons gives them a much more balanced roster. They don't waste Saric, who's a very solid stretch 4 prospect. And a Fultz/Embiid screen and roll/pop based offense would be lethal. |

Monk is going through a massive shooting slump in March, hitting only 18% of his 3s in the tournament after hitting 26% in the SEC tournament. It's also interesting, though possibly not very meaningful when assessing his pro potential, to see that Monk has only hit 27% of his 3s on true road games this year. He shot 41% on 3s at neutral sites, but that doesn't include his tournament performance and is buoyed by his 8-12 shooting against UNC in Las Vegas in December.
I still think he'll be a special shooter in the NBA, but there's additional ammunition for the "Monk is too streaky to be anything but a sixth man" crowd. |

I think he may drop out of lottery.....because if he is not an elite shooter in the NBA, he is pretty much uselsss. |
