You will take a fantastic role player with the 3rd pick?

I would rather roll the dice with Tatum or Jackson. Even if they don't turn out as superstars, but the tier of Derozan, that's still way better than a glorified Rubio.

Just trade Deng and Hou pick to Minnesota for Rubio!

If Alford announces he is going to Indiana soon....he will be the most hated man in LA...cause that would mean he had already been negotiating

It does substantiate all the building criticisms on him though ...

It reminds me of early criticism of Lebron. Granted Lebron's a better scorer, but Ball is who is who. Not a guy who's going to flip the switch and start chucking and forcing it.

I don't see how he will fit with DLO rather have either Monk or Fox just watching this game.
If we get the second pick I think you have to think hard about taking Jackson over Ball. He's good but his iso game is really non-existent, and he's not strong in the screen game, so..

I don't think it's even a thought anymore.

Top 3 - Fultz, Jackson, Tatum

Ball just played himself out of the Top 3

the Lakers disagree with you

Jackson will go second, I'd definitely take him over Ball. I haven't payed much attention to guys like Tatum who were projected out of the top three, other than looking at their stats and DX vids.

And yeah, I'd definitely take a fantastic role player with the third pick. If Ball's jumper translates, he's a damn good shooting guard prospect. I just call him a role player because he doesn't really pressure the defense, and thus can't be a guy you hand the ball to and say "make me a play." Green in Golden State is a role player too, but a top 10-15 player in the league. That's the kind of role player I expect ball to be, but he has to play with guys that can break down the defense.

And I'm a UCLA fan and picked them to go to the Final Four.

As a Laker fan, I'm weary of picking a high-level role player with a Top 3 pick

No problem Kwame Brown, even though you were the first pick, draft analysis just slips through your hands there, buddy.

it could help solidify Fox in the top 5....but yeah, nobody is making their final decision over a single game....nobody would accuse me of being a Ball apologists....but even I get he just had a bad game.

I don't think Ball is a SG. I'd bet on him averaging 6-7 assists in NBA than 20 PPG. He hasn't shown much midrange and isn't that crafty around the rim either. He's a scoring threat mainly beyond the arc and in transition. Josh Jackson reminds me of Ingram with better handles and more explosive. But we already Ingram, Randle, Nance who aren't good shooters at the moment.

He's done a pretty good job in several other games this season where he's taken over in the 2nd half to lead a comeback.

pretty much that. But after you watch college basketball for a while and how 'tournaments' translate to actual NBA talent, you learn not to put much stock into it.

But Green, is considered a consistent 3pt shooter for a big man, and actually has legit post moves (iso moves).

Ball doesn't man ....
