They sound identical to us. Haha.

Good to be on this side of QFTOS for once though.

At least they finally succumbed to the fact that we are a better team, with better players, a better front office, better legends, more championships, a larger fan base, and a world class organization. That's all...

You know a spade will always be a spade.
Houston made an interesting choice with MDA.
Right away you see a better offense in terms of points.
But you also see really bad D. They should not be giving up 120 points to a team like the Lakers. As talented as our young guys are we took advantage of a piss poor D.

So I can see them play 45 win type of ball this year but the same issues will plague them like other teams who played this style.

In the first quarter in particular the lakers were really hitting some shots they wouldnt normally have. I'm not sure whether to call that d'antoni defense or just luck

Woke up this morning made my nespresso and got tremendous joy out of these quotes. What I found especially entertaining was how high they were on Mike D before the game started. Then about half way in they all started to realize that the defense is an issue like with every mike D team. LOVE IT!! thanks OP

My thoughts exactly.

It was hilarious hearing him preach defense in the huddle. If you don't punish players for not playing defense, why the hell would they ever play it if they know they'll get playing time by hitting shots?

His teams will always be poor defensively. He simply does not care. And as a result, his players wont either.

Nick Young this year vs Nick Young under MDA is the epitome MDA's flaw as a coach.

These have been sorely missed.

For a first game of the season the quotes are especially good or is it that its been so long?

Go Lakers and the young guns.

Bye.

Thanks OP

They really paid Anderson $20M?!

Wow, and all the media criticism we took for Moz and Deng. That's a way worse contract.

They'll get better defensively. It really starts with Harden. They also badly need Beverly healthy.

I think Harden is adjusting to the new offense right now and is probably lacking in defensive commitment even more than usual. So he went from playing 30% effort on defense to 10% effort.

D'antoni teams tend to play decent defense for what personnel they have. But the focus is always going to be the offense and pace.

I almost got written up at work for laughing at that one. Then I showed my manager and he nodded in slight approval.

The bolded part right there - Harden never had any commitment to defense!!! He does NOT even try!!!! NOT EVEN A BIT...
