this Laker team is one DeMarcus Cousins or LaMarcus Aldridge away from being a top 4 seed in the west, and yes, this is not some homer's talk either. this team is stacked everywhere, we have scoring punch and defense from most position as well as off the bench. the only thing we're missing is a proven low post scorer that can attract double team. i can only dream Cousins will imploding by trade dealdine and AL secretly demanding a trade.

I wouldn't touch Cousins with a 10-foot pole. He's the best center in the league, but he's also a knucklehead who can ruin team chemistry. Let's allow these young guys to develop, maybe it will happen a little faster than thought.

Yeah, I love watching this team play together. I'd kinda prefer to see they become if they grow together.

Pass on Cousins and Aldridge won't be available. I think were a prime Ingram away. The talent is here just need time to develop.

Can we get em for Lou Williams?

Would be nice if we had one of these new wave of dynamic bigs coming..Embiid, Davis, Towns, Turner, Porzingis

Too early we still have guys like Zubac and Ingram to see where a tier 1 guy fits in. I'd rather get an athletic defensive minded SG, in the next couple of years.

Anthony Davis has an opt out in 2019... so yeah, 3 years from now. Could work out perfectly tbh.

hard to agree and hard to disagree.

hard to agree because it's only been one game. hard to disagree because they looked damn good in that one game the potential is sky high.

the ideal scenario for me this summer it to compete for a playoff spot and put the NBA stars/soon to be free agents on notice that this is a tea to want to join. If we're playing fantasy, we are compettitive for 32 -38 wins then still somehow end up in the top 3.

unfortunately, Cousins/Davis type players are not available this summer.

IMO, Demarcus is watching closely what we're doing these next couple years.

Ingram and Russell. Those two have superstar written all over them.

Im liking Mozgov's game quite a bit.....

What you really have is a team that looks attractive to prime free agents

but it is game 1

Town or Davis would be the final big piece we need. A true anchor

When Ingram is ready to become that 2nd guy, I think it's going to make Russell that much better. Their skills and playstyle are a good match. Can't wait.

Just let this pot of talent stew for a couple seasons and we'll all be feasting. No wholesale changes needed.

Exactly. If we can go into the offseason with the perception of a team that's on the rise, that'll be enough to make free agents look. We couldn't even get them to meet with us this summer. Now we can sell some optimism.

How would you know? You've lost the desire to watch the Lakers.

Well, the Dodgers lost and the Lakers season has begun! OP is not the only SoCal sports fan who is ready to shift his focus to the Lakers!
