kind of a catch 22....glad he competed and kept it within reach....but at the same time these are the type of games we need to steal if we want to keep .500 within reach as much into season as possible.

Hard to win a game when the other team shoots 19 more free throws than you, for a free 12 point advantage. If we had a fairly officiated game, and just another shot or two going in for Russell/Randle/Clarkson, we easily win this game. Oh well. Like the way we played defense. Even this loss shows how improved this team is. Last year, this would have been a blow out.

They really attacked the basket though. We didnt seem to do much of that.

Whatever happened to DLO riding the defender and shooting the elbow jumper??

He did. Missed. Good playmaking and D. Terrible horrific shooting (which included free throws btw). In fact, had he made his FTs, we could have won.

Great effort, dlo and clarkson just could not get shots to go down all night. Definitely not a bad loss, now time to focus on okc and that westbrook guy.

I hate loving this Laker team because I feel the pain of losing again. Been numb for three seasons.

First time I've seen refs look at a play to review a 2 or 3 and take away points because he stepped out of bounds. first time I've ever seen that. is this some kind of new rule that they can go back and look at plays if that's the case they should just go back a review the whole game and shave points off.

Every single team struggles in Utah. Unless you have superstar scorer, chances are the refs will call questionable stuff in favor of Utah. Pop and Phil even struggled with this.

has anyone seen review of the JC 3? Was his heels still out of bounds at the moment he last touched the floor immediately prior to releasing the ball?

I thought, aside from Hill, favors really punished us. We had to go small with Mozgov getting some dumb fouls, and he did a really good job of taking advantage.

They were one of my few likeable teams prior to this season. But now, seeing how they flop every other possession, it's hard respect them. I'm looking at George Hill and Rudy Gobert.

Anyone ready to see Westbrook go off for 60 points on Sunday? I smell a bad blow out loss.

it looked like his heels were up off the floor to me
but they were hanging so far over the line, it was hard to tell if we was out

I hate to be the pessimist, but WB going full post-Shaq Kobe.

He had a big statline but I don't think a 17-44 night would get him a win against this Laker team.

That's been a rule for 5 or 6 years. If they're unsure if a shot was a 2 or 3, they review it at the next full time out.

While they are reviewing the shot, they are also supposed to review if there was contact, a 24 sec violation or if the shooter stepped on the out of the bounds line.

The young players have learned a valuable lesson. When in Utah, strange stupid BS stuff happens. That and when Clarkson and Russell struggle, the team will go through some bad stretches.

he was out but u cant go back and change result you can only determine 2 or 3. What if a player kicks his leg out makes bucket and refs want to check if its 2 or 3 and decide its offensive foul?? Its a slippery slope if thats a new rule we dont know about

Defensively we are going to have to cut down on fouls. This was an issue during pre-season too.

I've calmed down now so I'll post again.

The Lakers made this competitive on the road, with Jazz home cooking and a huge FT disparity, on a night when DLO was ice cold and no Ingram in the second half. Not bad for a team projected to win 24 games.

At this pace I don't see the Jazz beating the Lakers at Staples.
