Keys to the game:
Don't let others like Olaidpio or Kanter to have a 30 point game
Let WB get his numbers, that doesn't mean OKC is guaranteed to win. |

New-look Lakers take on Thunder
TV: Fox Sports Net - Oklahoma, Spectrum Sportsnet
Radio: WWLS 98.1FM OKC / 930AM (ESP), 710 AM ESPN / 1330 AM ESPN DEPORTES
Quote: | Having a team full of talented, but young players can mean a season full of up and downs. One day they are riding high, the next they are having to pull themselves up off the floor.
That was the case for the Los Angles Lakers after beating the Houston Rockets in their season opener. They came back two nights later and felt the sting of a physical, bruising loss in Utah during a 96-89 defeat.
"It hurt, but there's nothing we can do about it," Lakers guard DeAngelo Russell told ESPN.com. "We've got to stay positive and build off it as a team. |

I have a feeling the team is gonna come out motivated, they know they let 1 get away...against Utah. I expect everyone to have a good game. |

Anyone know if the game will be blacked out for NBA league pass users living in Orange County? |

We can take 'em!
Hopefully a couple of our dudes can get hot.
Westbrook is probably going to torch us, so we gotta do a good job on the "others". |

Let's see if we can stay in this game for 4 quarters again. I'd love to see the Lakers hand OKC a loss. Probably wishful thinking but if DLO, Young and Clarkson are hitting shots again then I could see the Lakers making this an exciting contest.
GO LAKERS!! |

Houston and Utah combined for 24% shooting from 3 point range. Love to see OKC continue that trend. |

OKC goes hard to the offensive glass, hopefully we can get out in transition (and not get killed on the glass). |

Rebounding will be key. We have to box out and hit the boards. |

It would be interesting if Luke decided to bring Swag off the bench and starts JC instead so he can match up against Westbrook. Watching the new version of JC ( the one that's committed to defense) guarding Westbrook all game would be soooooo much fun. Your best bet of at least slowing Russ down somewhat is to match him up against a player with somewhat comparable foot speed, athleticism, and explosiveness. But of course, it'll ultimately require solid team defense if you plan on slowing him down at all. Just don't allow one man to beat you. If OKC is gonna win, put pressure on the "others" to step up and make shots. When that sucker Roberson is out at the 3 point line, act like his breath stinks. Stay away. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. Looking forward to seeing westbrook, he's one of my favorite players. Unfortunately for the lakers the Thunders strengths right now are
1) Westbrook
2) Kanter/Adams inside grabbing rebounds and playing defense
Lakers weaknesses
1) Guarding athletic guards
2) Keeping big players off of the boards
Seeing how we struggled against Gobert Utah with their big inside presence this doesn't seem like a very good matchup for us. They struggled to beat the suns, so there is a chance.
Go lakers!! |
