Charles: "John Stockton is the greatest point guard ever"

This is with Magic sitting directly across from him.

i dont have a big problem with ai over kobe. i dont agree, but he does have a half dozen scoring titles, steals. having said that, kobe is on this list easily. as active players in the league only duncan and shaq are in the same conversation as kobe.

Magic noted that all the SG's on the ballot played PG so he chose none of the group on the list.

Active players
Nash, Kidd, Payton...

Payton's career efforts garnered a vote from Doug Collins, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley.

Nash is not voted because his career is too young.

J. Kidd got some votes from other TNT broadcasters. Earnie brought Kidd's numbers up again in the end, but the panel votes him down against Payton's numbers.

Chuck has said that before, but clarified to Magic that he considers Magic the best "Basketball Player" ever and won't pigeon-hole Magic into just one position (due to his size, scoring, and rebounding skill)

Even a hater like Rosen thinks Kobe is the best SG of all time behind Jordan, and actually has a chance of being better.

Chuck must just think winning a title counts against you.

That would make him the greatest player ever.

Tim Duncan.

And likely ONLY because of Charles Barkley's snub to leave him off his ballot.
