This is the very definition of lame. The Invisible Man hits him! He doesn't get the call. He doesn't get a reaction from the guy defending him. He doesn't even get a reaction from his home crowd. Wow, Andre. It looks like the only people who even noticed your flop were in the league office.
Courtesy of KIROE in the General basketball main thread. I'll leave this one for AH to grade.
The CP3 ridiculousness at the open of the thread is just so Chris Paul. Wouldn't expect anything less. On the other hand, this beauty submitted by Wade is the example I'd like to see the NBA follow for about 2 years: Don't even acknowledge it!!!!
Of course this will never happen so long as sports gambling is legal but the problem with the NBA is that the refs yield so much power that the players are constantly playing to them. You have players driving and looking first, second and third for "contact" (which they, themselves, create) with the thought of putting up a legitimate shot attempt really an afterthought. This is terribly frustrating because, as Chick Hearn used to note, free throws are the bedeviling of the game.
Don't get me started on moving screens and the charge call. I'm all for huge reformations on those. It would clean up the game, we'd see actual basketball skills winning out far more, and the beauty of the flow of the game would be restored.
But this thread does highlight the ludicrous behavior of NBA players and, in the case of the CP3 foul, the inept coddling of players by the officials. _________________ We back.

Actually, I don't think that one was a flop. There was contact. What the announcer says is stupid. Carter is not set, moves in as Paul takes off, and catches Paul's feet. Paul didn't "kick" him. By the rules, that's a foul. It's true that there wasn't a lot of contact. However, if you're in the air, and someone bumps your feet, you're not likely to stick the landing.
This wasn't a whirly bird. It pains me to defend Chris Paul on anything, but this one was legit. It comforts me to know that he has been guilty on many other occasions.
This was well executed, but it had a fatal flaw. It looks real at first glance, and he gets the call. He was on his way to an A. But Ersan, you cannot take out your own teammate when flopping! Dude, you hit your point guard in the head. Come on, man.

Okay, yeah, he's a Celtic. Yeah, he didn't get the call. But I gotta give the kid some credit for the sheer hubris of trying to flop on James Harden as his teammate tries a buzzer beater. Marcus, you're never gonna get that call at the buzzer against Harden. For that matter, no one is going to believe that a guard shoved you hard enough to go through the metaphorical windshield. Save this move for DeAndre. Oh, yeah. The refs will believe that one.
Patrick Beverly: A-. The actual flop itself wasn't anything unusual but Beverly was clever enough to do it with his back to the ref thus shielding the ref's vision. He knew, as did everyone, that even without seeing a foul, an idiot zebra will blow the whistle. Bonus points for being audacious enough to do it, isolated, in the open like that.
Now this is good stuff. It looks like some sort of martial arts move. He actually kicks his opponent in the butt and uses his own kick as the launching point for a flop. He gets the call. Most impressive.
Lebron was at least hit hard there. It's a flop because we know he's a solid 250 lbs. of muscle, but still Green was running at him and is a big dude himself.

I haven't checked into the General Bball thread in a loooong time. But I had to, just to chime in on that pathetic flop by Lebron.
Wow, what a complete and total b*tch. Acted like he got blindsided by a freight train. MJ and Kobe NEVER did that shtt. Not even a smaller dude like Iverson ever did that. Punk. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same."
I've never been a big EL BJ fan, but come on, Green is a big guy and they were both running at each other. I think Lebron "sold it", but it's hardly the worst flop this month even.

Maybe but it has to be in the top 5. I watched the game. Draymon's reputation preceded him. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Well, many people are saying it was a flagrant foul (#manypeople) ...
Chris Webber, who has evolved from a promising in-studio host to a forgettable color commentator, continued to insist in the aftermath that Green was just going for the ball ... and as the replay was shown over and over and over again, he just kept doubling-down. It was super awkward. But lots of other people jumped on the "flop" bandwagon and accused LeBron of flopping on the play, too. So there was plenty of room on that bandwagon for people who got it wrong. The truth is that there was no effort whatsoever by Draymond to go for the ball. The truth is that the guy's done nothing to dispel the fact that he's just a dirty POS. And the truth is that LeBron "sold" Green's clothesline, no doubt. But that's not really flopping because the inevitable result of Draymond's non-basketball action on any player would have easily constituted a flagrant foul anyway, IMO.
Draymond weighs 250 lbs. and he tried to clothesline LeBron. Just tell it like it is next time, Draymond, and don't be a (bleep) on the sidelines flailing your arms for attention with that dumb-(bleep) grin on your face ... and try not to cost your team any more games, you big dumb dumb.

Draymond Green hit him. That's no small human.
Your whole nine posts (including the one above) logged in just to lay that on us? LOL OK thanks…
Well thanks for the warm welcome. Sheesh.
Welcome! (seriously)
But for real tho... I'm sure it's come up in the thread about LJ complaining about calls because I've heard it over and over in the media: LeBron is so big and strong and that's why he doesn't get calls. He's like Shaq in that when big men get hit they don't get calls but when they hit little men etc etc. I swear I've heard that a zillion times over the last several days about LeBron.
So why can't it be that two big strong men were going after it and hit each other? Why does LeBron have to flop and act like he got shot out of a cannon Come on man _________________ #IStillBelieveTaurean
