If we are hovering around the 6-8 playoff spots do you want Mitch to pursue another star talent? Or do you let the team build chemistry? We all remember the great affect Pau had on our team, Can Mitch pull off another magical move to help our playoff run?

If you're asking if I'd say no to a huertas/calderon for kat trade then no but I don't really want to trade any of our other players right now.

I wonder what Calderon/Black and the 2 2nd rounds picks can fetch? Ricky Rubio?

It'd be waste. You only make a move like that if you think you have a chance at a deep playoff run and we don't.

In order to acquire a legit star we'd also have to give up a member of the young core. Even giving up guys like Young, Williams, and Deng would be a bad idea right now since they've established themselves as leaders on this team.

I feel that this roster is perfectly balanced right now for where we are in the rebuild. A good balance of defensive specialists, scorers, and guys that can make plays for others. Right now this team just needs more seasoning, we have enough talent.

I like Calderon as a back up in case anyone gets hurt... he seems very engaged and always one of the more enthusiastic players on the bench. Don't think we could trade him for anyone significant so we may as keep him for leadership and morale.

Good question but only if truly fighting for a playoff spot close to trade deadline and most likely involving Calderon expiring + JC

Hell no. To acquire a star you'll need to give up some members of the young core and if they're good enough to get you in playoff position why on Earth would you do that? Makes no sense. Roll with the kids and then see how far they can go and then you give yourselves a legit chance to add a star in free agency.

I won't be surprised if the Lakers shop a combination of:

Black / Calderon
Calderon / JC / Black
Or black / JC / Calderon and a future pick ( since trading a pick won't matter with the team winning)

We can get someone valuable.

With Nick Young looking like Klay, I would hold off on the Mozgov-Lou for Klay trade.

Klay looks like he has one of those mental issues like Lester, Ankiel, Sax had in baseball... I wouldn't touch him until that's resolved for a significant period of time. Especially as it would cost us Max cap space.

this team is a star center away from being a solid playoff team. Can we get Cousins some how without giving up our core? or Lue ? Probably not huh ?

i see Klay as the odd man out in GS with Durant basically taking over that role of 2nd major scorer for them.

I like Klay and love his dad too... but his shooting this season would scare me away from trading significant assets until it resolves itself. He should be scoring less with a higher percentage with Durant taking attention away from him.

Unless there's someone of value to be had for the Calderon, Huertas, Black pu pu platter, I don't see much happening.

Pretty much how I feel.

This is another rebuilding year, but more importantly, it is an actual year of building where we will improve.

Our guys are building value and experience. Let them grow.

If we make the playoffs this year, it is just a bonus.

Now, next year is a different story, we are going to have a much better understanding of where are guys are at and what we will need to do to actually improve.

I have to say that so far, I am really pleased with Randle because I wasn't sure he could be so consistent and valuable. He is really looking solid out there. Been pleasantly surprised to see him hitting his midrange shots. Yeah!!

One of the things I really like about this team is a lack of jealousy and willing to go to the hot hand, no matter who it is. I would not be surprised if by the end of the year, we have 5 guys averaging double figures. That would be cool.

What would be great is to have a super balanced, GREAT team!! Not superstars per say, but solid professionals who know how to win but don't need the huge egos being fed.

No deals should be made with just this year in mind. Any trade made should be done with the future in mind.

The young guys are only a couple of years or less into their NBA careers. We still don't know how good they will become. I think Randle is a good example. We may already have our superstars and they are developing together.

I am sure Mitch will explore all potential trades but he isn't as short term reactionary as some here, he won't screw the future for a playoff run this season.

Meh. Those pieces usually cost a lot. We want to win multiple rings, not just make the playoffs. Playoffs are never the goal in LA, rings are.

Also, Pau came to the team when we were already #1 in the league and Bynum was blowing up and Kobe was the best basketball player in the world by miles. Huge difference. Just keep playing good basketball, I don't care about wins or playoffs.
