Man, we were just kinda flat tonight and were poor on defense. Hopefully its just a bad game and we bounce back.

I think Dirk's absence helped them on defense.

Barnes is looking legit.

We are such a young team and the guys just didn't respond to the challenge, unfortunately there will be nights like this.

I agree and we needed a big dose of reality check, games like this proves the team needs to continue to work hard, had we won this game we would be calling it a ugly win so losing it means we will be better learning to clean up dumb mistakes.

Not having Nance out there really showed up. Learning lesson for the team tonight.

I say that we shouldn't be too confident, the team is still young and Andrew Bogut & Harrison Barnes are on the Mavs. I wouldn't take this game too lightly as Barnes or Matthews could explode anytime.

Lets take this one game at a time. You guys wouldn't want your "sure win" comments to be laughed at on the Mavs board's QFTOS right?

Why not?

The Mavericks are horrible right now.

There's a reason they're 1-5 meanwhile the Lakers are a game over .500 and playing at home where they have yet to lose.

See no reason to not be really confident.

This would be our first four game win streak since March 2013.

I'm completely fine with players losing games, especially these players because we're not THAT good but a coach losing the game doing some dumb (bleep) for no reason at all is unacceptable. What is he getting out of putting MWP in? It's like he does these things so people can go ooooooh Luke is such a genius.

I really like Luke, and hes a great coach for us. But he has done some stuff thats just bsen too cute.

1) DLO is streaky and its very important that he has time on the floor to figure it out. DLO is always one of the last starters off the bench. When he misses shots early, it leads to him becoming ice cold. If hes hot, hes unable to go for big games. He could also benefit from some time agInst the other teams second unit. I get that the bench is hot sometimes but you have to find a way to get DLO in the game and get him his minutes. He is the teams best player.

2) picking Metta and then playing him is just so cute. Every time Metta comes in, the other team goes on a run. His player always beats him on Dfense and he is the worst player in the NBA on offense. Not only does he suck but he loves to keep shooting.

3) JC scores very well but his iq is so low. He overdribbles and is consrltantly looking for his shot.

4) Small lineup is cool and all But this absolute allergy to playing Mosgov late is too much.

Luke cost us this game, but many of these mistakes were made before.

Turnovers and defensive issues continue to plague this team. We have to tighten up in those areas.

Dallas took advantage of the Lakers' turnovers I thought near the end of the second quarter and the opening part of the third quarter was the turning point where Dallas were playing well. The defense wasn't very good and could have been a lot better. I think the Lakers missed Nance Jr as it meant changing the second-unit which has been one of the Lakers' biggest strength so far this season. And the success the Lakers have had playing a small ball line-up which includes Randle and Nance Jr the Lakers couldn't play tonight. Luke tried using Deng at the four, Calderon and MWP in different line-ups to replace Nance Jr which didn't work at all.

Jesus Christ, we are 8 games into the season, take a chill pill

Considering our luck in recent years, I'm not sure what to expect.

Look for improvement...that may not equate to W's.

This is a new group of players (that doesn't make them a team just yet) with lots of rookies. There will be plenty of bumps on the road before they finally gel...

IMO, lots of L's coming our way so find the silver lining...

Morale of this game is to never sleep on a Carlisle's coached team. We played like we were supposed to win the game and we can't afford to do that. We're gonna win when we out hustle other teams and run them out of the building. This team without Nance isn't the same too. I hope Luke cleans up his rotations a little bit and get the starters in earlier in the 4th so they have a chance to get in more of a rythm.

Poor defense from what I saw. Probably distraction induced from election night. Young teams do have more trouble bringing it consistently and are more easily distracted. We're better than Dallas, certainly a dirkless Dallas team.

It's very hard to say that we're better than a certain team. Sure we definately can be but as you said we're not gonna be consistent. I think we potentially are better than Dallas but every game is gonna be a battle and if we want to win we'll have to bring it big time every single night. I thought they came out a little too cocky and Nick Young's hot debut has made them over confident.
