That and actually coach D. |

Unfortunately the Lakers need Ingram for the little defense that they have. |

So Luke is preaching defense, yet we're the 3rd worst defensive team in the NBA |

I'll take the moral victory tonight. 107 points against one of the best defenses in the league, we were missing D'Angelo, and we still had opportunities down the stretch.
On to Sunday! |

Clearly, he's either not really preaching, or just doesn't know how to set it up and teach it. He doesn't even go to zone to try to stop penetration when Brooklyn scores 10 straight layups the other day

In the words of Luke, there are no such things as moral victories. |

This spurs team doesn't scare me.
Were just too young and green right now | So many have said that over the years. And then, the Spurs put together a 55+ win season with a good playoff run.
We could have been better but every time they have needed to get a stop or get a bucket to slow us down. They got it. |
Who protects their interior this year? |

Hopefully we can carry over some of the good things we did and beat Chicago. |
Yes, the Spurs will be contending for a title and we won't |

We have very little resistance on the perimeter. It is what it is. |

They just rely on hero shots and outshooting the other team and somehow it has been working this year. |
So if Dlo played do we win? |
I don't think so, because Nick, Clarkson, Deng, and Lou all had it going tonight. Russell probably doesnt even play much tonight unless Luke would have put him in for Ingram.
Weird to think of Pau and Luke as ex-teammates, but they were pal'ing about like old buddies after the game. |

Did James just call the Spurs a well groomed machine?
What da hell is a well groomed machine? I've never seen a machine with hair. |

Playing heavy minutes for Thibodeau helped ran him to the ground. |

I think issues are deeper, he's fallen of sharply from his play last year |

Of course, everyone knows it only takes 12 games to learn to play top notch NBA defense. |

It doesn't matter when he uses the timeouts if they don't play much defense out of the timeouts. If anything, Luke should've gone to the bench immediately early in the third quarter when it was apparent Calderon could not do much for the team defensively and the entire team started to just fail miserably defending the Spurs. Luke should've utilized his timeouts by switching out players that weren't gonna do much. |

Such a disappointing loss. They couldve won this game. But just not their night. 7 minutes remaining in the 4thQ and SAS was out of fouls and LA didnt exploit it and didnt attack much. With the type of night they were having, it would have been the best option to stop the clock and shoot FT's. |

And seriously you cynical people, give the other team some damn credit. They made a lot of clutch shots whether it was contested or not, and while a lot of shots they made were open, not many teams make em that consistently like the Spurs did tonight.
And just couldn't stop LMA. Too big, and was money with his jumper tonight. One of the toughest bigs to guard in the league.
Seriously this was a hard fought game against an experienced title contender who had everything going for them and still was close. |
Agreed. Using the reverse of the thinking, does that mean we are not playing good offense when we pass a lot and find the open man and instead it's just bad Spurs defense? Of course not.
Lakers in many instances had great defensive effort but were beaten by multiple passes and screens and then a spur hitting a 20 foot jumper after all that. Lakers did the same vs Spurs too. |

Deng is probably older than he says he is. Plus, I doubt he's been on the PED regimen that Lebron has maintained to help keep him feeling spry. |
