Sad but true story.

I was sitting in McDonalds yesterday afternoon enjoying my Big Mac with extra sauce and in a booth behind me I overhear the Manager trying to calm down an upset customer. I immediately picked up on the phrase “they can’t even speak English” and immediately pulled out my phone to begin filming this white trash sass.

As I turned around it was a little shocking what I saw. Standing there in front of this perplexed Manager was a short old Asian man spewing racial slurs and the Hispanic women behind the counter.

Hate and intolerance is not specifically a “white” thing but cuts just as deep.

Yes I know it. I've had this discussion with another poster.

Me neither. And the fact the bulk of the GOP is okay with it exemplifies the underlying values of the GOP and right-wing media: racism, misogyny, hypocrisy and a clinging to white privilege at all costs.

The real questions are: Why didn't Obama do something about the Russian interference in our election??? And why the hell is the left focused on guns???

The answer to the first question is Mitch McConnell refused to go along with a bipartisan statement about suspected Russian interference and threatened to make it an issue if it was released during the campaign.

The answer to the second question is that it's February and there have already been like lots of school shootings this year. It's a bad thing. Killing kids is bad. They really don't like it. It makes them mad.

One of the craziest parts is. Some of the GOP base sees Obama as the anti-Christ.

It's tough to think of a President less Christ-like than Trump. I think if Christ came down from heaven and said something like, "Trump shouldn't bully people". Trump would call Christ a LOSER! And say something like, "I like messiahs who don't die".

The GOP is a spineless, morally bankrupt party. That's why we have to vote in Dems. Can't put any faith in "moderate" Republicans. They'll just disappoint you sooner or later. Moderate Republicans might be an oxymoron at this point.

I've been saying this for 20 years. NEVER vote for Republicans, not local, not national, period. Even the "moderate" ones will bite you in the ass. I get angry with Massachusetts voters who seem to vote in a "moderate" GOP governor every so often. The state legislature is solidly blue, so there's only so much harm the GOP governor can do. But they still TRY at every opportunity to hurt education, poor and elderly, voting rights, etc. They never give up on their long term mission to make the rich richer at the expense of everyone else. As far as I can tell, that's their most consistent value.

or the scandal of him liking urugula
or the scandal of him doing a 'funny' pose in golf course
or the scandal of his wife wearing a sleeveless dress

now compare it to dozens of leaders of evangalical churches defending Roy Moore with his scandal of pedophaelia, including that it is ok to do

Skin color... maybe? or still not the classic racism?

The Parkland teenagers are so impressive. And now the Florida legislature refused to take up a bill to vote on banning assault rifles - with these kids, their parents and teachers right there in the gallery. Now they are angry and can't wait to vote these bastards out of office. We're always waiting, hoping that young people come out to vote in large numbers. This might be the thing that does it.

REPOST

Maybe teenagers getting involved may inspire parents to take a stand. This may cause Millennials to answer the call to arms, Congress to take some action. The teenage infusion is great. It gives me a reason to have faith of the country's future.

Tonight a Democratic woman won a special election seat in Kentucky statehouse. She lost the same seat by a point the night Trump won the district by 49 points. Tonight she won the seat 68% to 32% of the vote. Repeat, this is in Deep Red Kentucky, aka Trump country.

Quote:
Kyle Griffin Verified account @kylegriffin1

DLCC says that Democrat Linda Belcher has won the Kentucky HD-49 special election, defeating her Republican opponent with over 68% of the vote (Trump won the district in 2016 with 72% of the vote). This is the 37th seat flipped from red to blue this cycle.

Quote:
Daily Kos Elections‏Verified account @DKElections

Let's just spell this out real clear:

Donald Trump won #KYHD49 72-23 in 2016. That's a 49-point margin.

Democrat Linda Belcher won tonight's special 68-32. That's a 37-point margin.

The difference between the two is at astonishing 86 points. We've never seen ANYTHING like this
