Kelly's head may be on the block.

Kelly tells White House staff no more personnel changes coming

Quote:
Others have speculated that Kelly himself could be on the way out or that the president might have reached the end of the line with his attorney general, Jeff Sessions.

The president’s own words have contributed to the frenzy of speculation.

“There will always be change, and I think you want to see change,” Trump said Thursday.

How's Sanders going to spin that? It'll be away from change in staff to promises made for change.

Stormy Daniels' lawyer is really good on TV. Even if half of the things he says are true actually happened, this will be big.

He strikes me as an attorney who knows what he's doing. Sadly, he'll prove his case about Donald's sexual escapades but it won't move his base. We and they know Trump's a dog. Using a Quincy Jones quote, he'll eff a phone booth.

I'm relying on Robert Mueller.

I don't think the sex is important. It could be violations of federal election laws and physical threats.

He's a personal injury lawyer with a good reputation for that field. I've met him once or twice. Definitely charismatic, that's true.

Yeah, this quite clearly isn't simply about the adultery.

But not surprising.

What's a little more surprising is how evangelicals could think he's their guy. Then again, when it comes to politics they're pretty much single-issue voters, and as long as a party or politician says they're anti-abortion, they'll rationalize any other behaviors.

Yup, they are trying to impugn his testimony, punish him, and scare any other prospective witnesses.

Can Trump now hire someone, who can then fire Mueller?

Just trying to figure out if this is a slo-mo Saturday Night Massacre.

I have my marching shoes ready. But I want to know if we have 1 more safe guard for Mueller (maybe Rosenstein). I'm not familiar with the process.

But... but... but... Kelly said no more personnel changes coming. Trump is very obvious yet no one is attempting to check him. I hope this doesn't jeopardize his pension.

Mr. McCabe was among the first at the F.B.I. to scrutinize possible Trump campaign ties to Russia. And he is a potential witness to the question of whether Mr. Trump tried to obstruct justice. Mr. Trump has taunted Mr. McCabe both publicly and privately, and Republican allies have cast him as the center of a “deep state” effort to undermine the Trump presidency.

It ends his pension

That's not entirely true. LINK

Quote:
Experts disagree -- and caution that predicting payouts is complicated given the complex federal system and each individual's personal career particularities -- but, per federal rules, McCabe may not be able to draw an annuity until a date ranging just shy of his 57th birthday, and as late as his 62nd. That could put the value of his uncollected pension in the realm of a half-million dollars.

That's strange. Why criminal rather than divorce lawyer? Is protection of assets a factor?

the spin is that he is a family lawyer and that fact that he is a criminal lawyer was not the deciding factor

They're as hypocritical as any other group of people when you get down to it. If that were ever in doubt, it no longer is after they gave The Don a pass for Stormy. The women among them especially need to see a Stormy vid or two to hammer home how classy and righteous their Donnie is. Maybe they'd change their minds after seeing how much of a go-getter Stormy is. Evans are just lucky that some people still give self-proclaimed pious folks the benefit of the doubt on matters of decency and adherence to the tenets of their god. I don't even think Evans are all that pious most of the time. Their actions don't often mesh with their supposed beliefs.

Some additional context for Trump's hatred of the FBI (other than the fact they investigated him). The FBI briefed both Obama and Trump on the Steele dossier - as part of their duty to keep both current and incoming president aware of what was happening. Trump thought the FBI was trying to blackmail him.

Quote:

On the second page of "Russian Roulette," we reveal that Trump entered the White House believing the FBI was trying to blackmail him. He's been waging a paranoia-driven vendetta ever since.
