Duckworth Spends Veterans Day with Deported Veterans in Mexico
Thank you Ma'am!
https://www.duckworth.senate.gov/news/press-releases/duckworth-spends-veterans-day-with-deported-veterans-in-mexico
Quote: | “I am ashamed of and heartbroken by how our nation is treating the deported Veterans I met with today. They are Americans all but on paper, many of whom enlisted after then-President George W. Bush signed an executive order fast-tracking citizenship for those willing to serve—but who, because of things like lost paperwork, fell through the cracks, never officially became citizens,” said Duckworth. “I refuse to let them believe that everyone in government has forsaken them, and I want them to know that I haven’t—which is why I spent this Veterans Day at that makeshift refuge in Mexico, recognizing the sacrifices they made for the country they love.” |

Can Schiff ask Jordan and others if they themselves have anything to hide and if they would like him to begin investigating them also unless they express proper decorum |

Much as that sounds good, that's the kind of thing they do, investigate the opposition. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

Watching MSNBC "LAWYER FOR REPUBLICANS QUESTION WITNESSES". Talking about a Witch Hunt. Republicans attempting to justify the Ukrainian phone call.

One of their arguments is that there was no quid pro quo, no pressure on Ukraine, because the Ukrainian president says there wasn't. Why the heck would he admit to being extorted if he was elected on fighting corruption? Why would he ruin his political career by admitting weakness to his whole nation?
That's what the Republicans are arguing to the country as a way to defend Trump.
Jim Jordan somehow is worse than expected. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

I enjoyed him reading a quote really quickly repeatedly as if it was a tongue-twister to make the point that this was confusing, so how could anyone understand it, and so it's probably not true?? |

Today at FiveThirtyEight, pre hearing, Impeachment (aggregate): Support, 49.1%; Don't support, 45.3%.
Let's see where it goes. |

IMO Trump will be impeached but not removed. Lets see where that goes. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Most likely. The support for impeachment would have to rise by something like 10 points, and even then, who knows. |

And we haven't even discussed the Roger Stone trial where Gates testified that Trump knew about WikiLeaks leaks ahead of time and his campaign coordinated their future responses based on what emails were going to be leaked.
In other words, TRUMP COLLUDED WITH RUSSIA VIA WIKILEAKS THROUGH ROGER STONE. And Mueller knew it and didn't do a damn thing about it.
And it doesn't even make the headlines. |

This still goes back to collusion not being a criminal offense. Criminal conspiracy is. Proving that Stone and Trump colluded is one thing. Proving a criminal conspiracy with Stone would require full-proof evidence of a specific crime to which they conspired. Proving that a criminal conspiracy with Russia, though highly likely, is next to impossible, since it involves Russians. |

The only question or suspense is what pound of flesh Senate Republicans can extract from Trump (maybe war in Lebonan, who knows) to bail his ass out from this mess, and that's assuming public opinion dramatically turns. Right now they're just saving themselves from his wrath.
Also, how long does the trial in the Senate last? If you really want to get Machiavellian, maybe the whole point is to tie-up "Communist" Bernie and Warren in the Senate for a month while Biden or Mayor Pete have free rein in Iowa and New Hampshire. That would make Wall Street and K Street happy. |

LOL, if you view everything through a keyhole you pretty much only see one thing. FWIW, the rumor is that the Senate GOP is weighing whether or not to just move to dismiss the proceedings immediately on the first day. _________________ “We must always take sides. But Roberts presides over the "trial." Not sure he would allow that. Unless the Republicans do it anyway, and the Democrats sue, and then it ends at the Supreme Court, where Roberts is the Chief Justice. Ugh.
BTW, I've only seen parts of the MSNBC coverage, but Kellyanne's husband has been really good. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

McConnell can overrule Roberts. It would be the trial of Hunter and Joe Biden anyway.
