Sadly, I'm going to ask a serious question.

There's some talk about Senate Dems perhaps trading Hunter Biden's witness testimony for Mulvaney's testimony. Putting aside that Hunter Biden likely does not have any material evidence to offer on Trump's shakedown of Zelenskyy, does anyone really believe that Mulvaney will testify truthfully? On its face, getting Mulvaney on the stand seems like it would be a good outcome for the House's position, but that assumes he would tell the truth.

I don't think we can trust anyone in Trump's camp to tell the truth. Seriously. And Mulvaney denying his prior words (that were on the record) during an impeachment trial would be gold for Trump. Whether it's true or not, a soundbite from Mulvaney denying the claims is all Trump needs because his supporters don't care about the truth. That includes his Congressional protectors. They only need political cover.

This is why I have kind of wondered why the Repugs didn't want any witnesses. They can get people who will happily lie, and even if it is contradicted by other witnesses, the Trump Klan won't care.

McConnell just basically told the Dems to bundle (stack) all their motions for evidence together so they could save time and go home tonight. Basically it doesn’t matter what they are so just speed this up. Schumer refused.

The end vote result doesn’t matter too much, it is these ‘arguments’ that need to shape the view of the American people, Dems gotta hold strong and just repeat and repeat their case, witnesses, documents over and over

No surprise. McConnell is pure dog (bleep). And “moderate Republicans” are a myth. Like Bigfoot.

November can't come soon enough. The GOP is a death cult and that's all there is to it.

Bernie’s response:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) quipped on Tuesday that “on a good day, my wife likes me” when asked about Hillary Clinton’s comment that “nobody likes him.” Sanders said in an interview with NBC Nightly News, “On a good day, my wife likes me, so let’s clear the air on that one,” and then reportedly began talking about President Trump’s impeachment. When asked why he thinks Clinton is still talking about the 2016 presidential election, Sanders said, “That’s a good question. You should ask her.”

For his sake, he better hope he hangs on a long, long time, because there's a special corner of Hell waiting for that guy.

Nadler going off. Looking at the president’s council and telling him he just lied to the chamber, says any senator that won’t call witnesses as complicit in a coverup.

Great move making the republicans vote down having Roberts adjudicate witness relevance.

I thought it was Bolton for Hunter Biden because Bolton could be a wildcard. Get Bolton to testify first and then withhold Hunter Biden. Let the GOP subpoena him.

The Saudis with the aid of Crown Prince Mohhamad bin Salman (MBS) apparently used his phone via WhatsApp to hack into the phones of his personal connections (morons) like Jeff Bezos and Jared Kushner. Fun.

A funny thing would be if even after all the protest votes in 2016 that far leftists ended up with nothing more than 4 years of Trump followed by Biden.

Obviously less funny if it's eight years of Trump.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Kushner pushed MBS to get dirt on WaPo owner Bezos to please daddy-in-law and then MBS got blackmail material on the Kush who was never approved for a security clearance?

Yup. I don’t even buy forcing McConnell to change a couple of rules. That was just theater (like her one vote not to table out of twelve) for her to be able to claim she’s a moderate making a difference.

Admittedly, she’s dug herself a hole. If she goes along with trump she might lose reelection. If she rolls on him she’s completely dead though.

No need to withhold (either) Biden in the least. At best there is no relevance to the topic at hand, which will be made clear in any testimony. And even at worst, it doesn't change the fact pattern around Trump.

Big Foot Is Real What disturbs me, pisses me off about McConnell is, he will retire with a great benefit package for life.

It seems like mutually assured destruction. Would Republicans get to subpoena their financial records? Bolton's just going to lie anyway.
