Lord, I am looking forward to the combined power of Chapo Trap House, Jordan Uhl, David Klion, Matt Bruenig, and Ken Klippenstein irony tweeting Trump's re-election bid into the ground. It's going to be so powerful. How could Bernie ever lose?

Bernie gonna pick Hilary as VP and shock the world

Bernie is the first candidate from either party in history to win the popular vote in the first 3 primaries

I get it, although as far as I can recall there is only one Democratic candidate that I’ve really called out as being a bad choice, and that’s Biden. (And maybe a little bit of Bloomberg too.). But I’m definitely pro Sanders...no question about that.

Just as you think that of me, I see people on this forum far to quick quick to jump on the “Bernie Bro” narrative, consistently jumping on the belief that Bernie Sanders pretty much exclusively cost Hillary the election in 2016...explaining away the info about how the supposedly unbiased DNC was working to make Hillary the candidate and dismissing the idea that there was bias against him then or now as conspiracy theories.

The Bernie Bro situation is hardly just a "narrative". It's a reality, and a very dangerous one. Dismissing that ]reality as merely being a talking point is one of those things that makes people doubt people's sincerity in the discussion here.

We all have plenty of ammo to back up our respective sides. We just don’t agree on this stuff, and we come here to convince each other of why we are right.

Everyone has ammo, and anyone can passionately fire it off indiscriminately. But just because one can fire the gun doesn't mean they are doing so appropriately or accurately.

Here is what we do agree on: I’m voting D in 2020, no matter who the candidate is, just as I did in 2016. I am really worried that the Republic is almost over, this may be our last chance. Sad and scary...and I’m pretty sure you and most in this forum feel the same.

Fortunately, I think there are very, very few exceptions in that regard . . . here at least.

[Bernie's] either going to win the nomination, or he's going to get a plurality of the delegates and then lose out on a brokered convention. If the latter happens, it's basically a disaster, because a good portion of Bernie's voters will stay home in protest in the general election, or, even worse, actually cast "f*@k you, Democrats!" votes for Trump. I can see where this is going, and that's especially true because of Bloomberg's addition to the race. He's not going to drop out, and the moderates aren't going to agree to coalesce around him anyway. The cards are aligning for Bernie. And as much as I dislike him and as much as I don't think he's going to win the general, you better believe that I want him to win. Does he have an ace up his sleeve, as far as a VP pick? Paging Mrs. Obama!

This is why I find it deeply disturbing when people attempt to dismiss the reality that is the Bernie Bro movement. It's a definitively scary and evil prospect that people would rather see the horrors of Trump continue simply because they didn't get their way.

As for the prospect of the great Former First Lady being an option. I share your enthusiasm for the novelty of it, but the reality of it is non-existent. Unfortunately, there's no way she would be willing to accept the horrors that would be slung her way nor would she be willing to be a convenient gar-niche to Bernie's run (not that she wouldn't be a substantive running mate). She deserves far better than that fate, and I think it is pretty clear she has moved on to a post-political life that she is enjoying as she deserves to do.

I'm sure you're joking, but on the outside chance you aren't.

No way Bernie does that.

No way Hilary accepts that.

When we say "Trey, take your meds" we don't mean take heavy-duty hallucinogens.

Oh, I’ve heard. I’m just looking forward to hearing how we should now blame Sanders supporters for being offended when tonight Chris Matthews, arguably the face of MSNBC, compares Sanders victory in Nevada to the German invasion of France.

Thank you. It has been relatively easy this time. I didn't drink alcohol until age 37 because I hated alcoholics and then I became one. Humility learned

Um, I hate to break it to you, but the offense and criticism of Matthews's comments has been pretty universal.

I think BVH's point (and I could be wrong) was that Matthews's has helped to serve the contention that Bernie is unfairly under attack.

But thanks for once again demonstrating the defensiveness that exists amongst Bernie supporters.

I think the most telling thing about Sanders supporters is that no matter how irony poisoned they are, they in no way can take a (bleep) joke about Sanders. If The Onion wasn't staffed with a bunch of 25-year-old Bernie Bros, they could have a field day with the thin skinned credulousness of sycophantic Sanders doofuses.

Anyway, you're the frontrunners to power now, so suck it the (bleep) up, Surfitall. You should look forward to being on top and taking (bleep) on from below - a President Sanders isn't a (bleep) martyr of the downtrodden anymore. Let's hope your boy actually gets 1/10th of his (bleep) done.

What in the bleep is a Chris Matthews? Is this something Rush Limbaugh (bleep) out? Maybe his lovechild

Seeing reddit headlines Chris Matthews needs temporary incarceration for insanity.. get this (bleep) a padded cell quickly

I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to being a Bernie crank. I better not have to rely on my employer for insurance after 2021 or Bernie's a neolib hack sellout.

Not me. Should Bernie go on to the Presidency, I want him to be successful. To do otherwise would reduce oneself to just being a different kind of Bernie Bro.
