I think it would only take a simple majority to add more federal judges. I don't know if Manchin's there yet, but bribe him with subsidized rural broadband in West Virginia or something.

Manchin is interested in things for Manchin. Rural broadband won’t get him re-elected if he’s seen as going along with socialists.

Well, I hope he likes getting punked by McConnell then.

Doesn't matter. Trump will still be our president and he will be sworn in March 4 which is the real inauguration date. This is the reason the military is still staying in DC with enough supplies and vehicles to last 2 months. they used "dangerous trump supporters" as a cover to be able to sneak that much military into DC. The military will take over for about 30 days, show the country all the evidence of election fraud, child trafficking, Barack's real identity all before handing the country back to Donald Trump the rightful winner. Trump won 47 states before they started flipping the machines.

When I read things like what's in the article it sends chills up and down my spine. It's very difficult to fathom how gullible some people are. Where are these people? They must live in the deepest woods with little contact with the real world. SMH

You'd be surprised. I've read dozens of first-hand accounts from people about how their seemingly normal friend or relative (doctors, nurses, teachers, regular people) started watching only Fox News, then started googling stuff from Fox News, then they go down a rabbit hole where an alternate world exists of misinformation, conspiracy theories, etc. They get slowly brainwashed. Their friends and relatives tell them it's nuts, then their new online Q-friends tell them their friends and relatives are dangerous and to cut themselves off and only trust their new Q-friends who understand them.

I don't know what the psychological profile is that makes someone more susceptible to this kind of stuff, but in addition to being alarming, it's also very sad, These people need to seek therapy. But this phenomena apparently cuts across all IQ levels and professions.

it's disgusting trump supporters keep using America/USA as their battle cry. it sounds like they're the rightful citizens of this country. rest of others are not welcome here. they have to look at the mirror, they're ones who are the minority not only in this country but in the entire world (just look at the newspaper headline around the world). THEY'RE NOT WELCOME TO BE CITIZEN OF THIS EARTH.

Hopefully, the social media businesses continue to keep Trump off their platforms especially Twitter and Facebook. He should be permanently banned for what he did on 1/6/21.

He's probably stressing because he can't get on Twitter. Mickey D's gonna make some money. He should stay away from Adderall it's a stimulant. He needs Prozac to combat anxiety.

Here are some of the most pervasive election conspiracy theories and false claims being shared on social media around Inauguration Day.

Another false theory that Trump will become president again on March 4 has been spreading on Twitter and Facebook via links to a video viewed tens of thousands of times on the video platform (bleep), in which a woman claims that Trump — the outgoing 45th president — will become the 19th president under a “restored republic,” referencing a wild conspiracy theory that the United States hasn’t truly existed since the 19th century and that our current government is actually controlled by London.

Well, I hope he likes getting punked by McConnell then.

Having Republicans try and bully him from the right while Democrats bribe him from the left is the only way to budge him.

So if rural broadband won't do it, let's make D.C. a state and rename it Mancinia for Joe Manchin's ancestral surname.

ETA: While we're at it, Alaska could use an international airport. Now what to name it...?

Deplatforming works. But maybe Twitter should lift his ban briefly in the spring of 2022 during primary season.

Hey guys, what would have happened if someone like a Mo Brooks was Vice President, and he stood there with the gavel and did Trump's bidding to reject the votes. What would happen after that? I'm so curious what was the plan?

A brawl in the capitol? Trump then calls Martial Law? What next? Did we get scary close to a civil war?

Reading some of these conspiracy theories.... It isn't too far from what one of my (former) good friends has told me before.

Some people just need something to believe in.. or to be part of something.
Maybe they feel like they aren't important or smart, so they want to feel like they are "informed" instead. I try to argue common sense and logic with this guy and it just doesn't matter.... The goal posts always get moved...there's always a way out and there is ZERO accountability. He knows what he knows and everyone else is just a "sheep". Its sad.

But it just goes to show you how easily people succumb to cult leaders and such.
There's a sucker born every minute.

Shocking news to wake up to. Trump had literally NO VACCINATION PLAN.

No plans to distribute it, no plans to acquire it. No plans to manage it.

We are literally starting at square one today.

Which is why Biden's transition team wasn't allowed to be involved for weeks. If they were, they'd discover there's no plan.

I was afraid of just this. I think the new administration is going to discover some other terrible lapses that have been hidden from them. Some deliberate.

At the presser today Dr. Facui said it was comforting to be able to answer questions with scientific evidence without fear of repercussions. It must also be comforting for Jen Psaki to be able to answer questions without lying

I still think Fauci should be training up his replacement and get a pink slip later this year.

Why? As a physician with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Fauci has served American public health in various capacities for more than 50 years, and has been an advisor to every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan. If it ain't broke why fix it?

It very clearly broke twice under his watch under Reagan and again under Trump.

Counter-intuitively, this sort of thing doesn't necessarily coordinate with (lack of) intelligence. The problem is that really smart people are really good at thinking of ways to rationalize excuses for believing or continuing to believe things that concord with what they want to believe.

It takes skepticism and critical thinking -- things that are rarely taught.

On a (slightly) different topic --

For the last four years here, there's been a lack of a real political dialog over issues. It's because the craziness from Trump & the right sucked all the air out of the room. And because of the level of craziness, it was indefensible -- people would come here to try to support Trump, his policies, and what he said & did, but anything they said in defense was simply too easy to pick apart. I always said I'd welcome a discussion representing both sides of the issue, that wasn't a regurgitation of (flawed) talking points, logically fallacious, repeating debunked claims as facts, etc. etc., and it never happened. Of course, I knew it would never happen, because you can't use sane to rationalize crazy.

But now that the administration has changed, and the adults are back in charge, maybe we can get back to that -- a discussion based on differences in ideology and policy, rather than a doomed attempt to defend the indefensible. Just as I invited anyone in the right to come here and have a rational, fact-based discussion over the last four years, I also invite them to bring any rational, fact-based criticisms of what Biden is doing to the table, and let's hash it out.
