I believe Jeannie is gonna push for this to become a reality, just think of this, Phil was and is a huge Luke Walton guy and he might be angling to help Luke and her Financee.

Lakers don't need Knicks flop. Luke doesn't need triangle forced on him either.

As long as its a ceremonial or consultant type gig, why not? Seems inevitable anyway, since he's part of the family.

Didn't realize he is to Jeanie as Charley Rosen is to Phil.

I think we're good without him. Our FO has managed to get their stuff with regards to scouting, and we found a coach for the future. The only role he could possibly help at is with recruiting, but he hasnt really hit homeruns in NY and I think our success this year will do more to make the sales pitch than he could.

I respect him greatly for his time here, but I think we don't need to rekindle the past at this point.

He could be a consultant, similar to Jerry West in Golden State. He has a lot of basketball knowledge and it would be good to tap into that. He supposedly turned down a consulting position before, but maybe after the Knicks he will be ready for that. He could actually help us out.

Phil will be one of those guys that we might need to seal the deal in FA meetings. he can also be a player recruiter and a advisor for Mitch.

I'm not bringing Phil back and losing Ryan West. If Jeanie did something that stupid, SHE is the one that should be unanimously fired by the other Buss's.

However that's not much of a report. Even still, NO TO PHIL.

Phil would never play "Advisor" to anyone, he'd want full control on all personnel decisions and all coaching decisions and not even allow the coach to coach.

NO to him. And FA's don't give a crap about Phil unless he was coaching and the team had one of the best players in the league on it. The aura is gone.
