My point is that he can be a all star for our team and not neccesssary for the NBA.

That might be your point now, but that wasn't your point then. Your point, when you originally made that thread, was that he could be an NBA All-Star. If you forgot or don't believe me, go look at your first post. Here's a link for ya: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=178801

It was ridiculous then, and even more ridiculous now. And, like this thread, one of the reasons people laugh at our fan base.

being a All star in the NBA is mixed, it involves popularity voting.. I figured that the Laker fans would be giving Deng a chance to get in.

Ahh so a minute ago your point was that he can be an all-star for our team and not the NBA but after I called you out on it, you've gone back to the idea that he can be an all-star on numbers like 12/6 because Laker fans would just flood the voting booths for this new 12/6 guy?

That logic is why people make fun of the Laker fan base.

There is nothing wrong with being a all star for your team in fact just look how Lillard didn't get in even though he was helping Portland.

Deng can easily play like a star for the Lakers team.. it doesn't really matter though.. just expressing different opinions on the matter like most fans do when it comes to sports talk.

I didn't say there is anything wrong with being an all-star for your team.
But that's not what you said in your other thread.

In fact, you specifically referred to "voting" him in as an All-Star.

Now you're just changing your position because you realize how absurd that statement was and still is. Just own it man.

But I will always be rooting for our players to succeed.. even if it involves unrealistic excpetations.

I was wrong, and Deng playing like his former all-star level wasn't actually that crazy considering he never really declined in productivity, his decline is a truly shocking development.

His FG% dropped suddenly after the 2011 season, and his usage went down each of the last two seasons. He's been taking fewer shots each year, and playing more off-ball.

Wade and Dragic also created more opportunities for him than Russell and Randle, not to mention he had been cutting against slower players more often than now, since he's on the wing. Playing PF masked his decline.

Sorry to break it to you, but theres nothing left to save. You can thank Thibbedau for that

Deng thrived at PF for Miami last year, he's lucky if he gets more than two stints at SF out there

other than Kobe, i've ever seen another player average so many minutes in his career, he maybe 12 years in the league, but his body is worn down to someone who has been 20 years in the leaugue.

Not including this year but he has a career average of 35 minuets per game

other than Kobe, i've ever seen another player average so many minutes in his career, he maybe 12 years in the league, but his body is worn down to someone who has been 20 years in the leaugue.

Not including this year but he has a career average of 35 minuets per game

What? Lol star average players average that many, and so do many above average players.

LeBron: 38.9
Wade: 35.6
Dirk: 35.2
Pierce: 34.6
Melo: 36.3
Joe Johnson: 35.8
CP3: 35.8
Gay: 35.7
Ellis: 35.5
Iggy: 35.2
Deron Williams: 34.8

etc.

I think the bigger question is are we letting Lou Williams score points to create an emphasized focus on him so that when Zubac comes in and starts raining 3's all over the place vs GS in Round 1 of the playoffs no one expects a thing

I believe this to be the case. I know for a fact that huertas missed those 4 free throw last game just to conserve his energy for our upcoming playoff run.
