Would you take on Marbury's contract if you could get Frye?

if the Knicks told you we will trade you frye,but you have to take on Marbury's contract. Would you accept.

Marbury could shine if he played with a superstar who drew double and triple teams. Steph wouldnt have to beat 2 and 3 guys off the dribble all the time. He would have more 1 on 1 matchups playing alongside kobe and Lamar odom. Porblem with Steph is he is not a franshize type player who can carry a bad team,but could shine on a team with a superstar who drew a lot of attention. Plus with kobe's intensity and fire rubbing off on Steph. This could work.Steph wants to win,he just needs to be in the right situation.

Occassionally you can go small for short stretches. With frye and cook in at the same time to stretch the defense.

I'd rather take on both, Grant Hill's and Steve Francis bad contracts if it meant getting Dwight Howard, he already is doulbe the player Frye will ever be.

Although I was willing to take on Jalen Rose's contract for a chance to get Bosh, I'm unsure if I'm willing to take on so many years of Marbury for Frye.

I'd do this in a heartbeat. Marbury is still a good player, even though he is struggling, and I'd take him over Smush any day.

But Frye is really a nice offensive player. Add him to a front line of Brown/Bynum/Odom, and you have a reallt potent lineup, but now you have viable players at every spot.

Have to say losing Mihm will hurt, though...but Channing Frye will be an allstar, IMO.

I think it's hillarious how coveted Frye has become. Pre-draft that guy was soft as mashed potatoes and a first round flop just waiting to happen.

Anyway, I wouldn't do it. Frye is clearly a solid player, but Starbury would be a huge albatross, and I imagine the friction he'd generate with both Phil and Kobe would set Staples on fire. Marbury makes Francis look like Kidd, lol.

Marbury isn't quite the prototype triangle PG. Frye is a good player, but a move like this locks the Lakers into some major contracts that would prevent any major free agent move.

you know just to play along, I know this deal would never happen because Odom would have to be part of this deal, no way would the Lakers have 3 collosal contracts.

In a perfect world this would be great. It would be a deadly lineup of potential, which by the way Phil could get the most of them as players.

I'd love that team, but that Marbury contract is so freaking huge. And whoever called this team the Knicks of the west is a fool.
1. Kobe is on this team, the Knicks don't have anything that comes close to him.

this is one trade I'd do. Marbury and Kobe would fit together I think. Bynum and Frye on the inside. I think a Marbury/Kobe/Odom/Frye combo would be awesome for years to come. Titles all around.

I'm getting really sick of these ridiculous trade proposals. Do you really think we could get Channing Fry--a budding all-star--for garbage? The Knicks give us their two biggest stars for one starter (who would come off the bench for most teams) and filler? The Knicks don't give two s***s about cutting payroll. If the Knicks trade Frye, it's gonna be for TALENT. Do you know what talent is? It's not worthless Luke Walton and busted-ass Aaron Mckie. Don't even bother with these ridiculous posts.
