Currently he is Kobe 06-09. Pefected the mid range game. Incredibly smooth. Not as good as Kobe obviously but hey he is averaging near 30 ppg and stylistically no one is more like Kobe. You can really tell he spent hours and hours studying Kobe's game and modeling his own after Kobe.

Not even close to as smooth or exciting. He's got a good midrange game for sure. Great driver. Great athlete. Not someone I would compare to Kobe to be honest.

T-Mac was more like Kobe. Much more appealing to watch vs DeRozan.

Derozan has that 90's-00's SG game. I like it but it also reminds me that the game has changed so much since then.

It's clear that he studied Kobe. Other players who've studied Kobe/MJ's style are Kawhi Leonard, Gordon Hayward, Jimmy Butler, Marshon Brooks (lol). I'm sure there are others but those come to mind.

T-Mac is retired so I'm not sure why you suggested that.

Yeah, not Kobe fluidity or skills, but has one of the better mid-range games today.

I just still chuckle at everyone who vehemently argued that he was garbage.

Demar is playing brilliantly this season, hard to believe some didn't want him here as a FA.

I spilled so much internet ink defending him.

We don't need a 28ppg scorer with a midrange game.

Guys no one can be Kobe. I'm not saying he is as good as Kobe but if you appreciated the artistry of Kobe's game, you will appreciate DeRozen as well. His game is smooth, he is skilled and has one of the best footworks in the game today. And yes, he is very reminiscent of Kobe.

90% of the reason why this comparison keeps coming up is because no other star in the league is a midrange guy anymore. so demar is like the only one of the current crop doing it. the difference with he and kobe is that kobe did the midrange game like demar, but also the 3pt game like curry. so there is nobody doing that now, so nobody looks like kobe.

if anything demar's game is similar to jordan's, he didn't really shoot threes a lot either. but nobody will ever bring that up.
