Good news is the Lakers are the only team in NBA history to have never lost more than 10 games in a row. That streak continues through this season

The irony of all of this. Suns loss was a win. Book is the 2nd coming of Kobe after his 70 pts. Lakers keep winning. We end up with 4th. Suns get 2nd pick. They get Lonzo, the 2nd coming of Jason Kidd on the Suns.

Light skinned takeover. Steph n Klay....

Lonzo n Booker next?

Please no.

Suns doing it right. Developing their best player while losing. Us on the other hand, we are riding a hot Corey Brewer. Good Times!

This draft is such a crapshoot to me, the best player could easily end up going third (Josh Jackson?).

As long as we keep our pick, I'm happy. Don't care if it's 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Although, the top pick and Fultz would certainly be preferable.

We were trying to tank, fam. Do you remember what Ennis, Clarkson, Brewer, Nwaba, and Nance did in the Clippers game? They took an 11 point game and made it 25 in the span of 5 minutes.

Brewer decides to turn into prime Jordan for 3 minutes and carries a lineup that has no business succeeding. What are you gonna do? You could bench him. But then, why would your your guys play hard when they can see you actively removing guys who are playing well? What message does that send?

That's why tanking sucks. There's a dissonance between tanking and getting your guys to play hard (especially on defense) for the win. You can try to sabotage it by putting out lineups like the trifecta of Ennis, Brewer, and Nwaba, but if they play well for whatever reason (Brewer is a good slasher and that Wolves' defense is really weak on the inside), then you risk a win.

If there's anything the Lakers could do to hurt the tank, it'd be to play JC fewer minutes and instead pick up another 2-guard prospect from the D-League and give him some of JC's minutes. Because when JC is playing well, he can carry that offense-less trifecta of Ennis, Brewer, and Nwaba. Let JC play mostly with the starters and give some minutes to some 2-guard prospect.

Pick up AB again, that'll put the tank on overdrive!

Josh Jackson is the guy I've wanted all along. He is exactly what the lakers need.

Plain and simply we just can not win another game this season. If we lose out we will maintain control of the #2 worst record in the league and we should be fine at that point.
There is absolutely no reason to win another game again this season. Ok tonight was for Shaq daddy, but after tonight there is absolutely no reason to win another game again.

Lakers pretty much have to lose out unless Booker goes nuclear vs one of the cellar teams and they actually win.

Don't see how they can tank hard enough to lose to Sacramento tho.

So depressing. The team was dead in the water until the defense of that bench unit lit a fire. Maybe they can sit Nance for the remainder of the season for some lingering discomfort. Brewer's no spring chicken, gotta be something sore on him.

Exactly, we need to do whatever we got to do to make sure that we don't win another game this season!!!!
I'll concede last night's victory to honoring the Big Fella, but from this point on it should be nothing but losses.

We traded our best player, shut down our best shooter for the season, have benched our remaining best player for a guy who went undrafted in the D-League, and we're giving Tyler Ennis and Corey Brewer rotation minutes. We can't really tank any harder. Plus if anything it was our shutting down of Mozgov and Deng first that started the reverse arms race with the Suns that made them okay with shutting down their vets.

Deng was so lifeless he aided the tank. Brewer can at least he get out and run.

Im ready for our fan base to cheer for wins

Eh I see the tank coming back strong if we lose our pick tbh. It is what it is.

If we lose the pick, we're either coming back next season with pretty much the same team with/without Young or get Melo'd.

Either way = lottery and Tank part 5 by Christmas.

All the Lakers had to do was lose to Phoenix, they wouldn't have made up 4 games unless they won all 3 Wolves games and beat Kings.

.... and of course nothing is guaranteed being #2 vs #3 before lottery night but the odds are very scary.

This

Lakers are going to lose a quality pick to Philly, either this year or next. Lakers can win the lottery and draft Fultz, they'll still be a young team/non playoff team next year. Sure, maybe slightly better, but still a 25-30 win team tops. If they lose the pick this year, it'll be no better than the 4th pick and they will come back next year with a pure, stress free tank. There are no offseason saviors. Lakers blew their free agent money last summer, a team isn't giving us a star for our young talent. The next big free agents are in '18.

Losing the 2019 pick to Orlando obviously would suck, but maybe by then the Lakers would have a semi competent team.

If the Lakers win the lottery and draft Fultz and add Paul George as FA, they might be a playoff team.

I agree, time to shutdown Brewer and bring back Deng to send the tank into overdrive.
