A 10-day contract (or two) would be ideal so we could give him a test run before we commit full-time.

good idea, I think that's a smart route to take but we have to cut someone on the roster.

MWP & Huertas resemble that remark!

If all it takes is to cut hot garbage MWP, we need to do it now, I like the stability he brings but he shouldn't take space on our roster when there is guys like Archie Goodwin and Montiejunas on the market.

That is correct. We also had to deal with Nash and his back spasms when he got here, but for every Nash situation you can find ways to make it work.

When healthy the guy has proven he can play. He had a solid playoff series even after the Pistons rescinded their trade due to health reasons.

There must be something serious going on with his back. He's probably a minutes guys when healthy, but that's playing dice with the Lakers money. We have some good PF's here what we really need is a solid difference maker...

And to make it more apparent... Piston fans were upset when the trade didn't go through so that speaks what kind of talent D-MO is.

Maybe none but Gasol had a problem staying healthy when he was here that's why we couldn't trade him at the TD.

Failing a physical isn't the end of the world, or indicative of a player's career being over. The Tyson Chandler to OKC trade got rescinded because he failed a physical. That was 7 years ago. He went on to win a DPOY, a title, and he's still playing. If the Lakers want to sign Montejunas and their own doctors take a look and determine he can't play then fine. Worth the try. He shouldn't be written off though just because he failed a physical. As long as MWP is on the roster it's still a zero risk proposition to sign Montejunas on a 1 yr deal.

It doesn't mean he will never play again, but there was an issue with Chandler, just as there is an issue here. But as I have posted, if the FO wants him and he passes a physical, they will sign him. The cost would be cheap, a prorated $2.898 mil at most.

That not being healthy kept the Lakers from trading him at the trade deadline.

D-Mo's back injuries and chronic and repeated back problems are MUCH more documented than either Chandler or Gasol's. Stop trying to fool yourselves. The guy has a problem staying healthy and has CHRONIC back problems. The guy tried to intentionally duck his physicals for crying out loud.

Now imagine if it didn't go down this way that it has, he'd be taking all that money from Brooklyn and likely never playing, or at least having a chance to never really pay but collecting that paycheck. THAT is why he was ducking his physicals.

But he had to take them, and when he did, the Rockets let him go.

THAT should tell you everything and be a huge red flag. The fact some of ya'll are ignoring this for a career 7 ppg center I'll never know. There's "we don't have that, I want that!" and then there's THIS. Smh.

Gasol was healthy and plenty of teams wanted him but they tried to lowball us and the Fo was not interested. I don't know exactly what the deal was but Pau's health was not an issue.

Of course the overall sentiment was the Lakers getting bad offers but his injury in the last few seasons was apart of that reason.

Yeah per shams likely signing with the Pels

Not that big of a deal but could have been an interesting fit. Let's hear what the details of the deal are

Not to mention, the worry was Tarik's minutes. But he's currently behind T-Rob in the rotation for a while? Uhh, okay...
