I want to see Mitch become the senior scouting adviser. I want to see Ryan West become the GM of the Lakers.

Not sure it can happen but I think its a good move for the organization to pull off.

I have strong faith in Mitch but its time to give this franchise a new look. I also want to see if Mitch would accept a different position he might be more suited for.

My 2 cents doesnt mean its the right path.

I looked up Bill really quick but I'm not sure what you mean by your statement?

Mitch is turning 63 this year and has been in Lakers' FO for 30 years, more than half of it as GM. If I had to guess, he's retiring soon.

He is the head of scouting (at least he used to be). I was only joking anyway.

I'd like to think he has that knack for running a franchise having been around basketball his whole life... much like Luke was. Just has a deep understanding of roster building, cap management, drafting, etc.

I watched the Xarelto commercial with Jerry West and in it he was coaching a teenage basketball team. They were wearing purple, not yellow. Just saying.

Wow, I had no idea he was that old. Looks like he'll only be around for a few more years regardless.

I think when Mitch goes, by choice or by the Buss family deciding, he will be returning home to Claire....don't think he remains in the building hanging over who ever is the new GM.

He will write a book calling Shaq a fat ass and Kobe uncoachable. Oh wait, that has already happened.

Ryan is a friend -- he's a good guy, his hoops knowledge is great and I've taught him some cap stuff, but he's not ready to be a GM yet. Give him a chance to keep progressing through the ranks. Besides, if anyone is next in line with the Lakers, it's Glen Carrano.

Bill is not on the basketball ops side at all.

I don't think the next GM and Bball ops people should be promoted from within the Lakers organizaton.
