ESPN and TNT keep mentioning K-mart's trading rumors, do we have a chance of getting him, and will he be a good fit for us? |

it was on espn..
just talking about what he got into with the fans.. if he were a laker, we would have to babysit him. and make sure he does the right thing in public. they way he went off was just stupid, and he made himself look bad. the lakers do care about what type of player they get. k-mart seems to care too much about his thug image. he needs to use his brain.
thats why artest isn't here. |

K-mart is good but he's overrated and overpayed. He brings intensity and toughness no doubt but at that salary you could bring in a couple players instead. |

Kenyon's contract is way to big and he is way too injury prone! |

Kenyon was the best big man of a team that went to the Finals two times in a row.
Martin gone, New Jersey doomed : they have no more interior defense.
Defensively Kenyon is a beast, but he is too injury prone : after Vlade, Grant and McKie, I'd stay away from too-often-injuried players |

Kmart looking to drive up his value with 34 pts, 9 boards, on 14-18 shooting and a W over the Mavs. |

Kenyon and is bad knees sure looked bad tonight. Didn't he have 40 or something? His head was at the rim on some of those dunks. |

Give me KMart over LO.
First of all, Kenyon makes less than Odom so let’s not call Kenyon over paid unless you believe Odom is over paid. Second of all, KMart plays with heart, passion and intensity. Everything LO lacks. KMart is a beast on defense, can score in the post and bangs the boards just as hard as LO.
Trade LO ($11.4) and George ($5) for KMart ($10.9) and Earl Watson ($5).
Watson / Parker / Sasha
Kobe / McKie / Wafer
Kenyon / Walton / Green
Kwame / Cook / Turiaf
Mihm / Bynum / (forgot @ Slava)
Instant defense!
F’k the 2007 plan. According to emplay, Kwame’s 3rd year is now guaranteed so it sounds like it’s already scrapped. |

Artest ain't here cuz we didn't have jack to offer, we desperately wanted Artest, no one can deny that.............if it was within mitch's logical power to get him we'd be watching him in a laker uniform tomorrow |

I concur. The lakers have no physical presense inside. all we have are a bunch of SF's in PF bodies. |

K-Mart has a weak-mind. He almost always plays small in big games. One of those players that crows loudest after an inconsequential mid-season dunk, then squeaks like a mouse when a big game is on the line.
Decent player, but grows alligator arms in the clutch, is chippy, and undersized as a 4. At his price, I'd pass.
However, if Nene can be gotten, I'd roll the dice NOW (even while he's recovering from injury).

Except um...
Lamar = On the books past 2007 summer.
George = Off the books by 2007 summer.
Total space taken in 2007 summer: $11.4M
KMart = On the books past 2007 summer.
Watson = On the books past 2007 summer.
Total space taken in 2007 summer: $15.9M
Instant cap-space death!
(less available than required for max-contract anyhow)
Is swapping LO/DG for KMart/Watson worth that?
I think not. |
