We currently have 14 wins. Last season we finished with 17 wins. The next few games are as follows:

Jan 8th - Magic
Jan 10th - Blazers
Jan 12th - Spurs
Jan 14th - Clippers
Jan 15th - Pistons
Jan 17th - Nuggets
Jan 20th - Pacers

When do we reach 18 wins (aka further proof that we are moving in the right direction)? I am an optimist, and really feel that the Lakers will return to how they were playing earlier in the season. My guess is the Jan 17th game vs. the Nuggets will be win #18.

I don't want to make any guesses about when we pass last year's record and what our record ends up being. The team had a stretch in either Feb or March where they were looking better and winning. That could catch up to us

We surpassed Byron's record last season the moment we hired Luke.

I think proof of a better direction happened in November....and even December regardless of the record....but if I had to bet money, I would feel comfortable better we have 18 wins on or before January 20th if no significant injuries or trades take place.

... I'm guessing March. Expect a lot of playoff teams to jockey for position and the Lakers have a few less games post All-Star break compared to most teams in the league.

You think LA is going to win 3 games through the end of February?

I still think they will win 30 games this season. It looks like they are on their way to at least meeting that expectation.

I think it happens on the 17th against Denver. This young team is a team of streaks. They can easily lose confidence and play crappy and gain it right back - play in sync and to their potential and beat some very good teams and then slide right back again to a losing streak. But the ups and downs will decrease over the course of this season and the win rate will increase - i believe that.

I actually don't care about beating the 17 win mark - i know we'll do it. I want to see this team break the 30 win mark. Too many nay-sayers and 'realists' in the press and here on this board think we'll end about around the low 20's. Sometime's i feel i'm on an espn-in-training board and not a laker fan board at all...just would like to see the Lakers win as many games as possible and shut some negative people up.

This month. LOL. The magic number is 28, IMO That would exceed the number of wins we have had the last 3 seasons.

I think late January for 18th win. I think we return to winning half or more of our games in March and April, barring injury of course....

By the end on the month,
I think we still can win 28-30 games.

30-52.
