1) Ingram looks like he's taken his first big step forward, he looks a lot less lost.
2) Russell was 7-10, I don't know when the last time he shot such a high %
3) We won, but ORL is really bad....they had a ton of open shots they missed.
4) We need a defensive rebounding center BAD.
5) JC/Ingram/Randle...AWESOME D at the rim.
Creeping up on 17 wins!!!! |
6) Robinson and Black went temporary insane and thought they were Jules for a minute..Let's not do that again please. |

This team is loaded up to run off 6-8 good wins as is now. We might, if sustainable improvement be a 6-7 come playoffs.
I'm thinking we can finish @.500 |

I think it's very unlikely that we could go 26-15 from here, but hey, I like your optimism!
How many double-digit leads did we blow on that road trip in December...4? If so, we could be 19-22 right now so easily. Assuming that level of play going forward, and with the schedule easing up from here, I think we can go .500 from here. But those losses on that road trip were essentially an 8-game swing. So I think it will be hard to get to .500.
That all said, we're light years better than last season. I'm very encouraged. |

Soon as Nance gets back he's gonna unveil that mid-range game he's secretly working on, and we'll be 48 minutes of unstoppable!!
Seriously this years' squad is light years better than last year's squad.
Brandon Ingram! Ever since the light switched on that brilliant first half against Portland, he's looking like the ROY. He keeps this up he will be. |

Embiid has the ROY on lock IMO. He's just too much of a beast right now and Philly has matched their win total from last season because of him. However, Ingram has a chance to get 2nd if he keeps playing like this. |

Yeah, I dont know what that was. They should never create their own shots. Like ever. |

Underrated tidbit, but Luke left Mozgov in to take advantage of the Magic attempting to go small and for defense as well as opening up the paint more given his threat from mid.
It worked. |

It's nice to see the team rebound from an extended period of terrible play. We probably were one of the worst, if not the worst, team in the league for a stretch of a couple weeks, coinciding with injuries and some of the worst defense in a long time. Taking care of business against weak competition at home is the way to go. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

Lakers' Defense Propels Win Over Magic
Quote: | Just 16 days after Orlando handed the Lakers a wire-to-wire, 19-point defeat on the road, the purple and gold defended home court with some of the best defense they have shown all year.
The Lakers held the Magic to 35 second-half points — including just nine in the third quarter — to roll ahead for a 111-95 victory.
“We were the aggressors — 100 percent,” head coach Luke Walton said of his team’s defense.
Before the game, Walton said that the Magic “big boy-ed” the Lakers in their previous meeting, but that clearly wasn’t the case this time. |

If we can keep everyone relatively injury free, I think we just may have finally turned the corner with this team.
I know I've thought that before, and then I read about another player going down just as one is coming back, so I'm not going to hold my breath.
But I have a good feeling about how this team will do for the rest of the season. _________________ I would rather have questions I cannot answer than answers I cannot question - Richard Feynman |

Lakers beat Magic 111-95 for 2nd straight victory
Quote: | "We all knew they had the talent to be really good, but I think it's the fact that they really stepped up their professionalism as far as the way they're treating their bodies and approaching practice and every opportunity. It's a direct result from that," Walton said.
The young trio enabled the 15-26 Lakers to put together consecutive victories for the first time in 30 games. The last time the Lakers won a second consecutive game was Nov. 12. |
