yeah, I mean seriously. Why the heck would we get rid of pieces and get Butler when that just puts us in the exact same place the Bulls are trying to escape from.
There's a reason Butler is being shopped.
And no, I'm not [expletive] giving up Russell, Ingram, or Randle for him. That defeats the purpose of why you'd want him on this team.

Well, if we do the trade without giving up Russell, we would be pretty good.
Any trade involving the Lakers and butler will likely need to include a 3rd team.
How do you figure?
Cause we won't be giving them enough value...
Maybe something like..
Randle + pieces to Clippers
Griffin + Ingram + Clarkson to Chicago
Butler to LA.
Oh so it's just your opinion. You have a wildly grandiose idea of what Chicago is going to get for Butler.
It's a smart opinion cause we have no picks or any established players to entice them, even someone like Boston can offer more.
Boston can offer more, but the appeal of their package won't be all of the "established players" they can offer. It'll be their picks. I'll reserve comment regarding how smart your opinion is. _________________ 14-5-3-12

Not sure what alternative some people want. Never trade pieces for a star? Just waste away in the lottery every year? You accumulate assets for an opportunity to make a trade like this. I'm not convinced we have the package for him or that he's really available in the first place but we have an attractive package to offer that should be presented. _________________ 14-5-3-12

1) We're not
2) Giving up Randle and Ingram for Butler is too much.
Butler isn't exactly the piece that takes the Bulls over the top. Heck, if anything he's proving that he isn't the guy you want leading your team/face of the franchise IF you want to be a winning/playoff contending team.
He's Scottie Pippen, so we shouldn't be eager in any way to go get the guy and get rid of all our young talent to have this guy lead our team, when he's already shown that even in the East he isn't the guy that will lead your team anywhere.
Maybe in 2020 we can make a run at him, but other than that, no. Giving up Ingram, Russell or Randle for him is a NO.
Not unless you have other moves in place that are going to make you an instant finals contender, otherwise the trade would be pointless.
Butler and Russell would be good corner stones for our team going forward. Lou and Young would likely be resigned, since they are our own free agents. Thats a lot of offense right there, not to mention Butler is a legit two-way player. Nance, Mozgov and Deng are solid role players.
