|
|
According to RealGM, both Marko Jaric and Derek Anderson are being actively shopped.
Those are a couple of guys many of us were high on at one point or another over the summer.
I was marginally cool with trying for DA over the summer, although only on the cheap.
As for Jaric, he was on my very-short list before he was signed.
Not sure if he signed too big a deal to make him worthwhile now though.
Wolves are said to be looking for a big to put beside KG in return for Jaric.
I wouldn't likely do it, but Kwame for Jaric and another piece could be a deal Mitch considers.
Any thoughts? |

Agreed. But remember Kwame's out in 2007 if we don't keep him on another year at $8M+.
I can't say I expect us to resign him.
I definately wouldn't go Kwame for Jaric straight up...
...but doesn't Jaric make a couple million less than Kwame annually?
That's why I mentioned another piece.
Kwame for Jaric and McCants? Or another inexpensive young piece?
Again, not even saying I'd pull the trigger on those, but I just have a
hunch it's crossed Mitch's mind. |

seriously i think we are getting Derek Anderson. Signs kind of point to it. Houston needs some backup for their injured Tmac. Mitch says we need some vetran leadership in the backcourt who can provide defense. DA was known a little for his defense. Im guessing something along the lines of Anderson for George.
I hope not. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |

Minny's keeping McCants. That's certain, unless they are offered something lopsided. |

Kwame is 7' 270 lbs. He is listed at 6'11" 248 lbs but that is his high school size not his current size.
Marco makes $5M this year with 12% raises through 2011 or 2012.
We can ship George for him straight up. Tpups offered George an MLE deal when he re-signed with the Lakers so they would probably go for it but it means we probably would not have cap space for Summer 2008.Well, unless we renounce Kwame's rights.
We are not giving up Kwame or Mihm. And I don't think any team is going to give up a decent Big on a nice contract for Jaric.
They will likely ask for Mihm and we will say no.
Financially Mihm and Green for Jaric gets it done though. |

I sure hope we don't go for Anderson. That's all we need is yet another seasoned veteran who can sit on the injured list and collect a paycheck. _________________ Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst. |

Darko Milicic and Carlos Arroyo for Cato is being discussed. Even a 6'11" backup center who has topped out at a mediocre level is valuable. Kwame, a young C/F was useful against Yao Ming. Yao Ming is listed at 310#, but a 275# Kwame banging him showed him down. Don't underestimate the value of a big body with quickness. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Let's not get desperate. They are being "shopped" for a reason.

Jaric would be a good fit for the triangle. He could be a good initiator. His contract would make the addition of a major free agent in 2008 unlikely. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Good point! Second youngest team in the league . . . time can be as much of an ally as a trade. Let's not panic. |

I liked Jaric when he was a Clipper. His defensive worth changed with the rule changes though. He is not quick enough to handle the fast guards without hand checking. He can shoot though. I think he may be overpaid for our situation currently.
Anderson can keep on trucking. Simple and Plain he is a Jane. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

Anderson came into Rockets camp slow and fat. They say he tried to get into shape but Jeff van Gundy wasn't pleased. As a fan , when I saw Anderson play at his weight early in the season I was kinda mad.It didn't look professional and it seemed he just wanted to bangwagon on a good team.It really bothered me that a guy would come into the season and couldn't hardly dunk at 6'5.On top of that his defense was weak and he couldn't hit a wide open shot for anything. He pretty much was looking for a free-ride and I hope he's changed!I really don't blame the Rockets for trying to trade him ... |

I hope the Lakers make a trade, but I don't want Derek Anderson. I did last summer, but not after he ran his mouth. He wanted to go where he could win, I hope he enjoyed watching the Lakers beat him the other night. |

D Anderson would provide the Lakers with consistent scoring off the bench like how Stackhouse is doing for the Mavs. If they could get DA for someone like George, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Lakers will win more games with DA than not. _________________ To win the title, Lakers will have to overcome the world. |

I watch quite a few games (LeaguePass) and would have to agree. These two are brutal to watch at times.

If the Lakers sign DA I will be pissed . The guy knows he doesn't fit in with the triangle or Kobe which is why he wants out. I would rather have Spreewell, and I don't even want Spreewell on this team. |
