Thought I'd bump this - maybe we could make it the official BCS thread (or merge it with the other one we abandoned back in '15).

Season 4 starts 8/6. HYPE

I've been looking forward to this. This is probably more enjoyable than BB since it's nowhere near as "heavy". Slippin Jimmy is great. Might be the best show on TV but Succession is coming for the throne.

I just realized how much I need a crossover with NoHo Hank on BCS. That would be GOLD.

I guess no speculation over Chuck's fate anymore. Wonder how much story is left to tell. BB only went five seasons.

Love this show. The schemes Slippin Jimmy pulls are pure gold. They could make a series about Slippin Jimmy and all his cons he's pulled since his early years and I would watch religiously.

I think they have to cap this at 6 seasons unless they really shift focus to Gus/Mike. Or could we get a spin off of a spin off? The rise of Gus would be great.

I too enjoy this more than BB. Can't wait 2 weeks!

I would definitely watch a Mike spinoff but not a Gus one.

I'm guessing the opening scene (after the flash forward) is the funeral.

I just reminded myself that this flash forward should be good considering what happened last season (collapsed in the Cinnabon).

Jimmy was to calm when Howard revealed he thought Chuck set the fire on purpose and he was the probably reason. He loved his brother. I don't think he's going to let it go without retribution. Will Kim be a part of the revenge plot? She's straight lace.

Quote:
Slumped in a chair inside the apartment, Howard makes his confession to Jimmy and Kim. Chuck's death was no accident — he was far too fastidious to do anything carelessly, much less knock over a lantern that could torch his whole house. Howard believes, accurately, that pushing Chuck out of their firm over the massive malpractice-insurance rate increase that accompanied his return to work caused him to kill himself. What Howard doesn't realize as he tearfully moans "I think he did what he did because of me" is that Jimmy himself is responsible for leaking word of Chuck's mental condition to the insurance company, which is what led to the raised rate in the first place.

"Well, Howard," Jimmy says when his old boss and rival finishes speaking, "I guess that's your cross to bear." He briskly gets up, feeds his fish ("Look at her go!"), and cheerily offers to make coffee, whistling as he works. He's not just whistling past the graveyard here. He's whistling past his own complicity in sending Chuck to the graveyard. Throughout Better Call Saul, we've seen Jimmy switch his conscience on and off, to varying degrees of success. Perhaps the guilt of playing a role in his own brother's suicide is the point at which his conscience shuts down for good.

Yeah, forgot that. Jimmy planted the seed, Howard watered it.

Honestly, I don't understand the Barry hype. I like the show. But nothing about it seems special to me.

I now know what put Hector in a wheelchair. So far Jimmy's uninteresting to me. I'm still waiting for slipping Jimmy.

Yeah. That was a spectular episode out. And the whole episode was riveting. Rhea Seehorn nailed that confrontation with Howard. Some of her best work yet and that’s saying a lot.

And this has been some of the best Jimmy stuff yet.

That’s a shame. You’re missing the entire point of the story.
