I dont think this is an unrealistic free agency summer, we started out good this year and we should end with at least 30 wins, with natural team growth and Ingram putting on some weight, we should be a playoff team next year, if we add some all star level vets, were going to look really attractive to Westbrook and if he comes Cousins isnt going to not sign if he doesnt get the max, he doesnt seem like a greedy player, I think he wants championships, if we can be a 4-6th seed next season, I think we have a great shot at signing them both _________________ Hambuger! To get Westbrook, I think that we would need to either (a) be coming off a 50-win season, or (b) be coming off a 40-win season with a concrete and realistic plan to bring in a second star, such as Cousins, without decimating the team.
I expect that Cousins will sign a massive contract extension before 2018. To get him, we'll have to come up with a suitable trade that doesn't decimate our team. Winning the lottery this year would help that by giving us another piece to build around or trade.

It would take getting Cousins through a trade first, which I'm all for attempting as long as it doesn't cost Ingram or Nance. If anyone can become the Boogie whisperer it's Luke.

Luke would walk away if we added those two iso players. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
I expect Cousins to sign 200 M extension. WB might look for a championship contender if he leaves in 2018. He'd be 30 and would be giving up money to leave OKC so that's a logical choice. Spurs, Clippers or Celtics if Cavs start declining. _________________ Showtime 2.0

Even if we did, a 30 year old Westbrook and Cousins wouldn't be enough to win a championship. Cousins just doesn't have that much impact on the game. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Cousins isolates less than Randle actually, but weening him off those would be part of the whispering act. His passing and floor spacing would be perfect in this offense.

You mean despite leading his team towards a playoff birth for the first time in almost 16 years?
Seriously, guys been harping on Cousins saying "yeah but he can't lead the Kings anywhere". the guy near single handedly is leading the Kings towards the playoff before Rudy Gay goes down and "doesn't have that much impact on the game".
Well apparently he does.
Cousins single effort has equated to about as much as the combined effort of CJ McCollum, Damian Lillard and the brilliant coaching of Terry Stotts. Yet I doubt that any Lakers fan here would complain about having Lillard or McCollum.
So obviously Cousins effects the game.
Put Cousins on Portland with Aldridge, McCollumn and Stotts and put Lillard in Sacramento with Rudy Gay, and which team makes the playoffs?

He shoots 45.0% from the field as a Center. Many guards have a higher field goal percentage than that. He also plays no defense.
He's like a shorter, less efficient version of Bynum with far worse defense and equally bad attitude problems. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
