The draw was just held in China (which is another topic for another board) but the guest of honor was Kobe. We all know our mamba is best when the lights shine brightest and he did not disappoint. What a statesman and ambassador for the game.

Watch the whole thing for yourself below, but Kobe was basically the guy they got to draw the lottery balls. Crowd was dead despite Yao Ming and Jason Derulo being there but when Kobe showed it became like the Finals game 7, yeah Kobe is STILL that big in China. In the end, he just did his core job with minimal fuss yet effortless grace, respected the participating countries by pronouncing their names in their native languages where appropriate, and also never made it about himself. On top of that he had his big hollywood smile.

It really hits you in the guts about how far we have fallen. In the Kobe years we were the measure of excellence. Hollywood flash with class and substance to back it up.

Wow they still be loving that mamba mentality in china.
Kob so graceful and educated when he speaks. Crazy to see the state of the lakers in it's current form.
