are you sure about that?
no reason to debate. just look at the actual meaning of terrorism. then think about what you said again. take all feeling about the country you love and support, out of it.
all feelings aside. based on the definition at hand. america has been a terrorist nation since its inception. and we're talking just off of its own domestic terrorism. If you want to add in situations where we have found out years later that the US has made decisions to empower certain rebel groups in other countries in order to over throw their current government. Then to those people that are being targeted in said countries on the other side of things could easily feel as if they're being terrorized by a US backed force for the purpose of political gain not just for those people on the ground but also for the US' interests.

Now with that said. are we as bad as some other countries that we call bad? Probably not as bad anymore. But we're still bad. And that's something a lot of americans need to come to grip with. There's always this idea that we do no wrong and if anyone in this country calls out our own country we must be traitors or need to live the country(you hear people make these statements all the time after hearing another american citizen chastise america for doing something wrong)
Or you hear the "bu bu but... at least we are not as bad as [insert worse country here]"
That's like your child selling drugs and stealing. But he tells you (his parents). bu bu but... at least I'm not out their raping and killing people. You're still bad. Really bad. And that needs to be acknowledged, admitted, and dealt with. If you are to afraid to admit you are bad too, you will hardly ever deal with your issues. They will get brushed under the rug. |

Terrorism: the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
Has the US engaged in a few activities that could be loosely construed as an act of terrorism? Absolutely, but that is a LOOOOOOOONG way from being a "Terrorist Nation".
In order to be such, a country would have to be founded on the notion of intentionally targeting civilians with complete disregard for international law, and doing so as part of its core beliefs and agenda. That doesn't even remotely describe our country, as hard as CI tries to vilify it for being such.
By all means, hold our leaders feet to the fire over the choices they make. We should do exactly that. But save us the "The US is a Terrorist Nation" rants, because it is not even remotely true that such ideals are at the core of country (though we may have a current leader who is a borderline terrorist himself)
