So I'm guessing you missed how well Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis played with one another?

Or the fact that PP thinks he's as good as Kobe ...

Or the fact that PP scores from very similar areas as Kobe.

I would take Pierce if I didn't have Kobe. But since we have Kobe, let's get him a bigman first - before we worry about a player that does similar things.

PP and Davis not working out is a terrible comparison. Ricky Davis is the one that didn't work well with others, not PP. If Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker could nearly carry a Boston team to the Championships (which they nearly did against the Nets), then a more mature and efficient PP could probably make some noise with Kobe. Just because their both perimeter players doesn't mean they wouldn't work well together. Jordan and Pippen were both perimeter guys. One was an SF and one was an SG, just like (gasp!) kobe and Paul Pierce. I would totally trade Odom straight up for Pierce (with some filler on our end). The rebounding we lose will be supplemented by the development of Turiaf and Bynum. PP's scoring ability is LIGHTYEARS better than anyone else's on the laker roster (obviously, save for Kobe). We'd also be getting someone that makes a lot less mistakes than Odom.

Not to mention - Pippen loved to handle the ball and set plays for teammates.

Pierce is a pure scorer first and foremost and gets most of his assists through drawing the defense and hitting the open man.

Not knocking you man - Just that PP has been brought up many times.

I agree the Lakers need another scorer. But it should be a bigman or someone at the PG spot.

A SF/SG scorer is not what we need. That is Kobe's job ...

Stop compensating for yourself. Horrible suggestion to begin with.

Two starters?

Go Lakers!

Ok Wolf usually I agree with you

BUT YOUR FREAGIN NUTS!!!

You must not have seen by Celts games this season. Pierce is playing the SF primarily and has been playing good D surprisingly there. Pierce is not a permanant SF who can shoot from anywhere, ANYHOW. Kobe and Pierce would be beyond belief. Now theres Jordan's Pippen for Kobe in Pierce.

That's my only problem with getting PP. And that's a pretty big problem.

whether pierce is the ideal compliment to kobe or not, he's certainly a lot better than odom.

Some people wouldn't like to trade Odom for Paul Pierce. I'm not against that kind of trade.
