I like Foster over Davis also....but dont sleep on Davis.....guy is a straight up stud in the middle. |

Oakland can't pass up Foster. Hope the Dolphins can snag a good safety or guard in the 2nd. |

Wow. Conley to da Raidahhhhs! I'll say this: if dude is totally innocent, he's very good value here. CB was as big of a need as LB for them. Apparently Conley was given a lie detector test by a team (possibly the Ravens) and he passed it. The Raiders must be totally confident he's not going to suffer any legal issues.
I'll give Reggie McKenzie the benefit of the doubt here, for now. |

There's my UCLA guy, Takk McKinley going at #26! They needed a pass rusher and McKinley's tape was awesome from this past season. |

That was a damned impressive call, Stu. Damned impressive.
I can't say that I'm thrilled that we traded up for Watson. O'Brien is going to need to do a lot of work on him, given his penchant for passing to the other team. Still, after the Osweiler fiasco, I guess we needed to roll the dice.
On the other hand, if Cleveland was willing to trade away the pick that could have been used to draft him, there's an excellent chance that Watson will be a Hall of Famer. Heck, we gave them Osweiler, too. |

If I was a Texan fan, I think I would be pleased with the move. |

Ramczyk's upside is as high as anyone's in the class, although I preferred Lamp too. But Ramczyk could be very good, so I am not going to quibble with it too much.
Thanks, AH. I try. LOL. As for the INT thing with Watson, remember that Jameis Winston had an INT problem in his 2nd season at FSU. I think that could be a function of being so good and knowing each guy had such a great college team that they felt they could risk certain plays, knowing that if they did turn the ball over, they could likely come back from it. I don't think Winston has played reckless in the NFL at all, though he has that gunslinger quality at times. I think Bill O'Brien really appreciates Watson's competitiveness and incredible leadership qualities, as well as his moxie in the clutch. He made Brian Hoyer look like an average NFL starting QB, and Watson has so many more tools to work with. I know that people were speculating that O'Brien would like Mahomes because of the big arm, but I think Watson is far more ready to play now, and the Texans have a ready-made playoff team. And Watson could be better than Mahomes in the long run, anyway. I just like the fit and think it was a bold move that they had to make, and I applaud them for doing it.
Foster was a nice move for the Niners at 31, and I really love the opening salvo by John Lynch and company. They came away with Solomon Thomas and Foster in Round 1, two legit top-7 talents IMO. They gave up their 4th rounder to get Foster, but they picked up all those Bears picks to get Thomas, so it's a net positive in terms of picks accumulated, AND they got two real talents to help their defense. Adding talent and stockpiling. Couldn't have drawn it up much better if you're a rebuilding team.
Watch out for Joe Mixon when the Packers pick early in the 2nd, or perhaps Dalvin Cook; but I've heard rumblings that the Packers are enamored with Mixon. |

I ended up getting 28 of the 32 1st rounders correctly, if not in the exact order hehe. I didn't write all my stuff for my picks last year, but I did a lot better this year than last.
I'm actually sad that they don't just do the 2nd round after the 1st...I didn't want it to end! |

Still a lot of good talent available tonight, especially shocked that Dalvin Cook is still there.
Teams that did best last night IMO:
Niners - To trade down, get more picks and still take Thomas who they wanted anyway is an awesome move, but to then use one of those picks to come back up and take Reuben Foster is a great move. Foster might have been the steal of the round. They've added 2 elite defensive prospects and picked up more picks.
Browns - How is it even possible to get Garrett, Peppers, Njoku and a future first rounder from one night's work? High ceiling prospects and a first for next year, they did well and added some great pieces.
Bucs - Never thought OJ would be available for them, good value, and he will be a pro bowl TE in my opinion. Putting him with Evans and DeSean will take their passing game to the next level. Can't believe he fell that far. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

I don't like RB's or WR's in the top 10.
Fournette may be a special case though, but still...don't like RB's that high.
Chargers of course botch their pick in typical fashion, but since I am a NFL Fan Free Agent, I no longer care. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

That's my working comparison as well.
Too many red flags though:
1) Injury prone, which doesn't bode well for a LB.
2) A bit undersized, even for a OLB.
3) Mental state, word is that he's immature. Getting kicked out of the combine didn't help.
4) Over-hydrated. HA. As if he and his agent didn't know about over-hydration. Is it herb, or is it steroids. The latter might be the case, due to injury, or maybe due to wanting to enhance performance.
He's a good pick towards the end of the first round. Very high ceiling, but the floor might be pulled from under him. |
